I recently stayed at Maven Stay, and while the experience wasn’t the absolute worst, several cleanliness and communication issues made it disappointing. There were leftover items in the shower from a previous guest, the floors didn’t appear to be swept, and there was hair in multiple areas—including the shower.
There was no welcome packet provided, which seems to be the main reference point for assistance. Since the hotel is staff-less, the only phone number available is meant for help accessing the building or room—not for resolving in-stay issues. Wi-Fi wasn’t available—presumably because login details were in the missing welcome packet—which was frustrating.
Initially, we were only given one bath towel for a two-person, six-night stay. After I contacted the hotel through Expedia, someone came to deliver more towels and removed the items left in the shower. However, hair was still visible in the shower and other parts of the room, and there was no follow-up communication—just an automated email reiterating that the hotel is staff-less and referring us to the same phone number, which points back to the (missing) welcome packet.
I hope these concerns are addressed for future guests. With no on-site staff, it’s crucial that everything is properly in place at check-in. Attention to detail is clearly lacking.
