“Absolutely brilliant cottage. All new fixtures and fittings with everything you could need for your stay. The drains smell came and went- not sure where it came from and it didn’t really bother us. Location fantastic for walks along the coast and short drive to other coastal towns. Would recommend”

“Arrived with screwdriver and saw blade in stairs and half done job on gate for stairs. Overall cottage not up to date, more old persons home and grubby around the edges. Cooker was grubby, light didn't work. Toaster only half worked, other half very slow. Dog bowl and dog blankets in living room and kitchen. Not having a dog this felt not set for us. Lots of dog hairs. Ended up eating out lots to avoid eating in. Cost us more as a holiday. Cottage needs a full update/upgrade to fit modern……

“Cottage was ok but after booking through hotels.com I was contacted by Host & Stay and advised I had to pay an additional fee for a damage waiver. Alternatively I could pay a deposit but they take an admin fee so you don’t get the full amount back plus they state they may take 14 days to refund.”

“The cottage was clean and comfortable and well equipped. The location is great, near the harbour and the pub!The hosts were welcoming and really helpful. Books, games , maps were provided at the cottage.The location is fantastic for walks and visits to other places on the north yorks coast.We would definitely return.”

“Great weekend in a beautiful place, plenty of space for us all to be and each bedroom very comfortable. Easy access for taking a walk on the cliffs to saltburn which a few of the group attempted! All in all a great property that was clean and spacious and good for large groups.”

“Our third visit to Top Gallant and it still delivers the wow factor. It’s quirky and cosy, tastefully decorated, well equipped and spotless. But its biggest selling point is the terrace high among the tumble of cottages overlooking beautiful Runswick Bay. The view is stunning and many hours have been spent sipping wine, listening to the sea and looking up at the stars after a day of walking the fabulous coastal paths. Another visit is already planned.”
