The room rate based on the easily accessible area along with very close Riverwalk and other attractions. The hotel is beautiful….they don’t make molding like this anymore! What I didn’t like was the very small bathroom, very narrow area between the toilet and the Vanity. I’m a smaller woman and I was constantly bumping my elbows (either side). TP holder is right up against a leg! The shower was NOT consistent in temperature consistently changing from Hot, Cold, warm, not fun! Had no idea- husband read a disclaimer at check in about older plumbing and to expect the water change. Lastly, the thermostat didn’t go lower than 71. It was set to 65, so obviously there is a central controller that was set to 71. We mustarded through but I personally might not stay here again….not to worry we don’t frequent SA anyway (to peoplely!)

This hotel was perfect for our stay. Staff was amazingly helpful and eager to make sure our stay needs were surpassed. Only draw back at all was the construction in the area , but definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends.

Very friendly staff! Attentive and answered questions. It's located next to the Alamo. The room was very nice even being in the original part of the hotel it's exquisitely kept up. It's a beautiful hotel! The garden was beautiful and you can smoke while you rock in rocking chairs by the fountain. The pool goes to 9 ft deep and is spacious. The Menger Bar is a must-see and is steeped in history as is the entire hotel. The valet service was very nice and prompt but at $45 a day I felt that was a little much. The food and the service of the Colonial Restaurant was excellent. There is ample shopping and sights to see within walking distance. The Riverwalk is also within close walking distance. We would stay again.

The hotel was very convenient and walkable to the Alamo, shops and river walk. The standard rooms were a little small, along with bathroom. The AC did not cool the room down enough (lowest a 72 degrees) and was the only issue that we had with the hotel.

We stayed at the hotel this past weekend and most things about the hotel we liked . The location was excellent and the pool area was nice. . What we didn’t like was the parking $49 a day to park because you had to valet or pay to park in the public parking area. The wording is very confusing and there is a tow truck that patrols very frequently. Just go ahead and charge parking in the price of the hotel. That way people know what to expect

A word of caution. Being a very old and vintage hotel, the HVAC system is severely lacking. We had the thermostat set to 70, but the temp never dropped below 76. It was extremely hot and stuffy, which made it very difficult, if not impossible, to get a good nights sleep.

We stay for the night parade during Fiesta 2025. Seating was just outside the hotel. Riverwalk access within minutes for shopping and dining options. Hotel is a litte dated, but it's the historical Menger, so no issues there. Contruction outside the hotel as the city is making things better....I hope.
