I recently stayed at Quality Suites San Antonio Northeast (6350 N IH-35) and it was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The staff was rude, unaccommodating, and completely uninterested in helping guests. The older woman at the front desk even shouted at me before I could get a word out, saying they weren’t moving anyone to another room, no matter what.
The condition of the property was appalling. Hallways were filthy, and the elevator was slow, missing buttons, and felt like it could break down at any moment. Our room smelled like mold and mildew. The carpet was so dirty and sticky that we had to wear shoes just to avoid getting our socks filthy. There were dead insects under the sink, trash behind the dressers, and all kinds of garbage under the sofa sleeper—we were too disgusted to even use it.
The tub had a thick sheet of dirt on the bottom and a visible ring of scum around it. The TV in the bedroom didn’t work at all despite being handed three different remotes—it turns out the TV itself was broken. And unbelievably, they gave three adult women only two washcloths and acted like we were inconveniencing them when we demanded a third.
To top it off, they had the nerve to require a $100 deposit on top of the $170 I already paid for this dump of a room. We couldn’t even sleep properly, worried insects would crawl on us. The only reason we stayed was because it was Final Four weekend and every decent hotel was either fully booked or charging over $300 a night.
