I did not appreciate that it was not shared on the property listing that they were under construction. I was expecting a nice Marriott experience with a bar and restaurant and amenities. The bar & restaurant were closed, the room directly above us was under construction that started by 8am, our toilet barely flushed so we often relied on the “lobby” bathroom which required going down to the lobby, getting a room key for the 7th floor, going up to the 7th floor to a guest bathroom that had been allocated for restroom use (with no paper towels), go back to the lobby to return the key, and back to my room on the 10th floor. The lobby coffee was Keurig (yuck), and there were no bottles of water in the hotel room. We were looked at as a nuisance when we asked for bottles of water at the front desk. They asked us upon check in when we’d like our room serviced and we shared that with them. By 3pm, our room still hadn’t been serviced. We shared that with the front desk and when we returned that evening, we had two bath towels replaced. We had no fresh hand towels or replacement wash cloths. It appears the bathroom vanity is new but otherwise, I couldn’t tell if our room had yet to be renovated or was one of the recently renovated ones, which isn’t a good sign. This was a special weekend away for my partner & I, and I was embarrassed that this was the hotel I had mistakenly chosen for him. We expect more as Marriott Bonvoy members, who generally love their properties.
