We weren't only amazed by the remarkable attention to style and detail used to recreate beautiful El Convent. We were overwhelmed with how well the hotels staff and designed have created an intimate hotel that we didn't even want to leave the hotel for the first day.

Absolutely Stunning Hotel! So much charm, detail and ambience, it was a delightful stay. Perfectly situated in the heart of Old San Juan across from the Church and within easy walking distance of points of interest. The premises was clean and calm. The room was a mix of modern and beautiful culture. The bed was heavenly! I would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to stay here again.

What a lovely hotel! The location was excellent - right in the heart of Viejo San Juan. The service was stellar. The room was beautiful and very quiet - even though we were on the ground floor next to many events. And the free coffee, water, and wine and cheese were wonderful benefits. Also they have coin op laundry on site which was a huge plus in the humidity!

The lobby and entrance are beautiful areas and give a historical resort vibe. The staff at the reception desk were friendly and provided good service. The event space looks gorgeous, as we witnessed 2 weddings during our stay. There is a "balcony space" visible from the guest rooms, where one could see a pile of junk, which was an eyesore. Also, the view from our room was not a pretty sight, with what looked like some unkept or abandoned homes. The restaurant needs improvement in the food and freshness of the ingredients. The area is convenient to restaurants and shopping, and attractions of Old San Juan. The area was also safe.

This is wonderful historic hotel right in the heart of old town San Juan. It was a dream come true to stay there. The hotel is gorgeous and well kept. The check-in was easy and friendly. The room was on the small side. The bed was somewhat hard and I did have a problem with some form of black granular substance that was on the bed. It was not insects, but it was weird and unexplained. The room did have nice amenities and double doors with a protected ledge that had an excellent view out into the city and the bay. There was some faulty or damaged items in the room, but the shower worked well with plentiful hot water and the toilet worked well. There was a bar and restaurant on site in the middle of the hotel that was convenient but expensive. I had one meal there which was OK but overpriced and took a long time to deliver. The bar staff was friendly. But the bar was expensive. I had two Mojitos and it was about $70. They do have a workout room, which was helpful. But it did have multiple pieces of broken or damaged equipment. The Wi-Fi was OK and easy to use. Overall, I did enjoy this stay and it was pleasant. But the broken or nonfunctional items is very out of context for what is supposed to be a top level establishment. But honestly, it adds somewhat to the charm as nothing in Puerto Rico works completely normally and some broken items is the norm. I would definitely stay there again and definitely recommend it.

El Convento is always a great choice for Old San Juan. Our room this time did have a disagreeable view of the squalid property’s roof which was next door. Management could not move us but were very apologetic and sincere in taking our concerns seriously. We always stay at El Convento.

The property is a heritage building restored to perfection. The location is excellent, in the middle of old San Juan. The restaurant was excellent. There is smallish rooftop pool with a separate Jacuzzi. The pool side serves free coffee and hot water in the mornings and wine and cheese in the afternoons. The property itself is gorgeous and restored to perfection. Would love to come back and stay again.
