I really loved the European charm of the hotel—it’s stylish and cozy. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, though I didn’t catch her name. Unfortunately, our stay took a turn late in the evening. Around 10:30 p.m., someone knocked—more like banged—on our door. We didn’t open it, unsure of who it was.
Not long after, a staff member began loudly walking the halls, shouting, “Third floor guests, it was reported that someone was smoking marijuana. There will be a cleaning fee of $150.00!” As someone who already struggles with falling and staying asleep, this disturbance made it even harder to rest.
I really wish they had handled the situation more discreetly, perhaps by calling the rooms individually instead of announcing it in such a disruptive way. It was a disappointing moment in an otherwise pleasant stay.
