“This is the perfect place to be away from the city but yet have it within 20 min away. This place is so peaceful, quiet and safe there is two houses on the property perfect for a big family or rent it individually. I stayed for a week and have no complaints. They have some amenities that will have to be shared like the pool and or the grill area but I don’t think that’s an issue, the houses have their own patio area and there is privacy. “The home is in a residential neighborhood, but is a peaceful place to relax after exploring el centro. The home, grounds and pool were beautiful and had plenty of space for two families with children. Everyone enjoyed cooking at home, hanging out with the peacock, and swimming in the pool. It was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay - pool towels, cookware, Bluetooth speaker, hairdryers, etc. The host was also very helpful, checking in to make sure we did not need anything. “I was very comfortable in the well-designed and beautiful space. There were many windows, so it was light and airy. The kitchen had all that was necessary to be able to cook somewhat elaborate meals. The wifi was reliable and I was able to do computer work and editing. The lights did flicker at the same time in the evening for some reason but it didn't have a negative impact. A wonderful experience!”

“To be fair, i don't know if the room itself is good or bad, because i never got to see it. My wife and i reserved this room in August knowing that dia de muertos in oaxaca is one of the busiest travel seasons around, and when we called customer services to change or dates to cover 11/1-11/2 instead of our original booking of 10/31-11-2, they said no problem the change was made. Cut to November 1 we've received no info on how to access the room and when we call customer service again they say……

“Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Casita del Abuelo. It’s a lovely house and was immaculate when we arrived. Jorge, the host, was very attentive and went above and beyond to welcome us and address our needs. The neighborhood is very pleasant and we were able to walk to a couple different breakfast spots in the morning. We mostly took taxis to and from the Centro but also found the bus to be quite convenient. All in all, we highly recommend La Casita del Abuelo.”
