We had a wonderful 5 day stay at the Blue Sands Inn. The owners are lovely people and very involved. They made sure our stay was excellent. They had very nice little touches like warm baked cookies with breakfast. Safe location close to the beach and great restaurants. Looking forward to staying here again!

We had a wonderful stay at Blue Sands Inn. The room was a good, comfortable size—clean and nicely kept with everything we needed. The property itself is well maintained and in a fantastic location—just steps from the beach and within walking distance to State Street, which made it easy to explore shops and restaurants. Communication with the hotel staff was smooth and responsive throughout our stay. The woman at the front desk waited 15 mins past her time for us to arrive for check in! Really appreciated that sweet gesture. Room had a small fridge and some drinking water. There aren’t drawers for storage, there’s a rack with hangers. The only minor downside was the wooden bed frame, which made creaking noises, but overall it didn’t take away from our comfort. If you’re looking for a hotel with a big lobby, restaurant, bar etc and 24/7 service this is not it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a convenient, affordable and well-kept place to stay in Santa Barbara!

The room was dirty, the bed was dorty with some either bugs or big black boogers under the pillow. one light was not working and the other kept flickering. The room was warm and you do not have control over the AC. My face kept itching and eyes watering everytime we entered the room, sat on the bed, or touched anything in the room. The location is nice, though, thats about it.

Overall very nice. Quaint, boutique like motel near the beach. Clean and updated with a nice shower. Our room had a gas fireplace and a microwave, but no coffee service and the soaps were empty. I would give it 3 stars and hope that they would offer a little better conveniences in the future. Especially, for the price point... With coffee service and full soap dispensers, 4 stars!

The only con was i’ve never been to a place that didn’t want the cash payment, i paid on card which was fine but i was expecting to pay cash. Other than that the pool and area around was perfect, the room was perfect. I would definitely be coming back here again soon.

So. The staff was very nice and helpful! My problem was with three things. First off I paid with Expedia and was charged every temporarily each day. Not a fan of that and unnecessary. Second the coffee situation, there is only coffee in the lobby instead of in our own room. We were at the mercy of whoever and whenever they made it. (Btw offering oatmeal would be a great perk)Thirdly there isn’t a dresser in the room. Most people would not consider these issues but they were to me.

They had given my reserved room to another guest who wanted a room on the ground floor. Why do they think I had reserved a room on the ground floor!? And to switch without asking me first?? He handed me the keys and said that I got 2 rooms for the same price. No thanks!!! I would’ve walked out and went to another hotel if it wasn’t so late already. That room would’ve allowed all three of us to stay together, which was the whole point of staying in SB overnight!! Instead, I was given two small rooms upstairs. No elevator on the facility. No small kitchen with a stove and a dining table. This is utterly unacceptable. We went out to eat first and there was no one on site to speak with when we returned. I am still furious. I will bring up this issue to them tomorrow.

This is not a 4 star hotel. The room was covered in sand. The towels were cheap, the toilet paper was cheap and the room was tiny. The biggest issue is that they use some really cheap cleaner in the room that smells disgusting, burns your eyes and throat and makes you feel nauseous. We couldn’t even sleep through the night, our daughter woke up crying at 5am and wouldn’t go back to bed. She didn’t get better until after we got out of the room for a couple of hours. They may want to look into whether or not that cleaning product is toxic.

We only stayed for one night but it got the job done. Really clean with a cute aesthetic and nice, attentive staff. Our only complaint was that the walls were a little thin and the curtains weren’t blackout so the room was a bit bright for our liking in the morning. Overall, would recommend and return.

The location of this hotel is very good. It is close to the waterfront of Santa Barbara. We had some trouble trying to understand how to use the heat in the room, and the staff person came up to our room and showed us how to operate the remote for the heater. This was above and beyond what I might have expected somewhere else. And my husband and I appreciated it. While this hotel is a bit older, the decor of the room was up-to-date and appropriate for the setting. We very much enjoyed the fireplace in our room. If we ever find ourselves in Santa Barbara again, we will definitely stay at this hotel!
