Alright, so here is the deal. The hotel looks great and the front desk agent is nice and it's clear he is trying his best. The issue is that our first room had not been cleaned when we went inside, the previous guest mess was still in place and it was clear that housekeeping hadn't gotten to it just yet. Our second room was a downgrade from our first room since the room we booked was the Suite, 1 Bedroom, Pool View (Double, High Floor) and the one that was assigned only had one bed. Third time was the charm and we got set up with the right room after a few trips up and down the elevator.
I was hoping this would result in some sort of credit for our proposed second day stay or any sort of remedy but we were told that because we booked through a 3rd party (Expedia) they can't do anything for us.
It was a long drive and we had already came earlier in the day to attempt an early check in but were turned away because the room was not ready. Funny enough we showed up extra late at around 7pm and when we went into the room it clearly was not ready.
Overall a disappointing start to what is supposed to be a great getaway, maybe we will have more luck at the next hotel we stay at tomorrow.
*Side note/question are the bathroom trash bins supposed to have bags? Luckily we brought our own.
