Girls Weekend

The house and property was amazing. Comfortable beds, immaculately clean. Centrally located to restaurants and wineries. Susan stocked the refrigerator with basic food items. That was an unexpected surprise. This is a repeat booking for any occasion. Loved being surrounded by horses, pigs greeting us and of course Smokey the sheep!

Uniquely amazing place to stay

Everything was absolutely fantastic. When looking for places in the Santa Ynez/Los Olivos area to stay, there were a lot of options that were all quite similar to each other. But then I found the Lone Sheep Ranch and knew it would help make this trip a memorable one for our family. The property is gorgeous, and we made friends with three pigs, chickens, beautiful horses, the lone sheep, and even some cats and dogs. Everyone was friendly and extremely hospitable, and the house itself was spacious, clean, and perfect for our family of four. We will tell friends about this great property and hopefully visit again ourselves in not too long. Thank you!

Girls Wine Tasting Weekend

My girlfriends and I booked Lone Sheep Ranch for our wine tasting reunion. We had not been back since 2021. We normally stay in town but decided to mix it up with staying at this ranch. It was so beautiful and tranquil. Very close to anything we needed for the weekend. We loved the bonus of the animals on the property. Check-in was very smooth and the hosts were wonderful. The house was well appointed and had everything we needed. It was exceptional. We’ve stayed at places before where the future was “tired” and the kitchen was lacking. That was not the case with Lone Sheep. I highly recommend a stay at this property and I would love to return, either with my friends or my family. Thank you Lone Sheep Ranch for opening your beautiful place to us!

Great family experience

Such a great experience. The property manager/owners were so friendly and accomodating. The interaction with the animals was truly a highlight. The house was set up perfect for the 6 people we had. Beds and couch were comfortable and clean. The whole house was well kept, updated, and clean as well. We will definitely be back!

Gorgeous stay, perfect for the family!

Susan did such an amazing job helping us get settled in. We were visiting for my mother in laws 73rd birthday, the house was perfect for the family. We all fit with more than enough space and there were a lot of great touches that made the stay even more perfect. The property itself is beyond gorgeous and theres so many awesome farm pals around to visit! I would highly recommend this space for anyone to visit!

Magical Animal Experience

Wow! Is pretty much all of our reactions. The Lone Sheep Ranch is everything it promises and so much more. The owners are lovely and their animals are beyond charming. The ranch is immaculate and the house we stayed in was all redone beautifully. They even stocked the fridge with fresh eggs and morning essentials. Some of the animals roam free and there is something beautiful to see out of every window. There was even a rainbow across the pasture. This is our new favorite place for sure!!!

Magical weekend getaway

We loved our stay here. The hosts were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They spent time talking to us about the ranch and letting us pet all the animals. Magical Ranch Experience

Enchanting visit at a fantastic location. Accomodations were perfect - spotless and comfortable. Surrounded by animals - sheep, pigs, cats, and dogs. Beautiful Farmhouse - Definitely Coming Back!!

We had an amazing stay at Lone Sheep. The rooms were spacious and had comfy beds! The open floor plan was great for all of us to gather around for a glass of wine. We didn't get you to use the jacuzzi but definitely will next time! I would recommend this stay to anyone interested in going to the Santa Ynez or Los Olivios area! Thank you again!

Relaxing at the Ranch

The location is wonderful, located on a family owned, working horse ranch/property. The grounds are well kept, quiet, and relaxing with places to sit and enjoy the sunsets or sunrises! Owners Susan and Alex were easy to work with, are welcoming, and made sure all was well throughout the stay. It’s obvious they take pride in the property which was clean and stocked with necessities. Susan even made sure we had some snacks and items for breakfast on arrival should we need them. The Ranch is within minutes of Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, and Solvang…take your pick of shopping, wine tasting, good food, the casino, and much more to enjoy! Our tip…venture out but definitely take advantage of the well equipped kitchen/bbq and enjoy time at the ranch with family or friends like we did!

Wonderful Wine Country Stay with Family

Lone Sheep Ranch exceeded all expectations, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay! Beautiful home and ranch, with close access to nearby Los Olives, Solvang, and Santa Ynez. Truly as amazing as it sounds

The house accommodations are immaculate and with very tasteful interior design. Everything has been well thought through. All very clean and comfortable. Great kitchen where my kids and I were able to put together a full Father’s Day brunch, including Eggs Benedict for seven, homemade hollandaise and all! But honestly, what sets this property apart in outside the house. The breathtaking surroundings and visiting with all the animals. We all need a moment like this in our lives, where you can just be. We’re already planning our next visit to get ahead of the booking battles that are sure to be in issue as the word spreads about this gem. Hidden Gem, Wonderful Stay!

We had a great time staying with Susan and Alex. The hosts were so friendly and helpful upon arrival. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the animals on the farm, it was so memorable. The house was in great shape and spacious. Plenty of outdoor areas to relax with a glass of wine and watch the kids play. It was also in a great location and so close to downtown SY, Solvang and Los Olives. The rooms are a little bright in the morning, so I'd recommend bringing an eye mask if you're a light sleeper. Otherwise, it was a fantastic stay! We will be back for sure.

Alex and Susan exceeded our expectations! The house was extremely clean and very thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed to enjoy our stay, including a well stocked refrigerator. If there was an ability I would give it 10 stars I would. Truly beautiful property. Well equiped and newly updated farm house. Lots of space in the house; large bedrooms. Fantastic location. Wonderful hosts. Lots of friendly animals to meet and pet. A true Gem. Can't wait to go again.
