“Upon arrival we were told not to mention it was a VRBO and that we are the host’s cousins. Upon alerting customer service of this and the notice in the elevator stating short term rentals are not allowed, they said the host said the notice is old and no longer relevant, and the most they could do is a 50$ refund as it did not classify as part of the guarantee to find a place. We left, contacted the general manager of the building, and confirmed it was not allowed to be rented. We contacted VRBO……

“Our family had to travel to San Diego for a funeral. We decided to try Vrbo because we didn’t want a hotel where we were on top of each other. We also wanted to be on the beach because her ashes were spread out at sea and it would a last moment of connection.
