Disappointing Experience at a Premium Price
I booked this hotel for a short birthday getaway, choosing to pay a bit extra after a long trip in hopes of a restful stay. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations - this is not a budget hotel.
There is no room service, and no real breakfast option beyond packaged snacks from the lobby convenience store. The in-room coffee station does not offer tea or decaf, and the hotel's featured restaurant, Morton's, is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. I wish that had been made clearer when I booked.
The view from my room was disheartening: a loud HVAC unit and a flat stretch of tar paper roof with nothing beyond it. The location itself is isolated, which makes it difficult to find alternatives without getting in a car. If there were walkable options nearby, many of these shortcomings might have been easier to overlook.
Service was also underwhelming. Staff seemed under-trained, and when I asked about food options, the front desk told me the lack of breakfast was due to "union issues." They also mentioned that guests receiving complimentary casino stays rarely complain, which left me wondering if paying guests are expected to cover the difference.
To be fair, the hotel is clean and appears recently updated. But this is not a budget property, and basic amenities and hospitality standards should reflect that. I am disappointed and would not choose to stay here again.
