Bears Rest - Authentic Mountain Experience

Come experience the wonders for yourself and stay with us at Bears Rest. You will love staying in this charming one bedroom, one bath cabin. It has everything you need for an authentic mountain experience!

The lodge inspired decor and the free-standing wood-burning fireplace give this home a distinct mountain feel. The kitchen is furnished with a full size refrigerator, stove top and oven. We provide the cookware and cooking utensils, as well as flatware and dinnerware. There's a microwave and coffee maker, too. All you need to bring are the groceries! Spend time on the outdoor deck, relax and rest in your new home away from home.

Built to accommodate three, there is one queen bedroom with a twin size daybed. The cabin has central heat and air, cable television and ceiling fans. Bears Rest is equipped with an outdoor dining area, so you can even enjoy your meals outside as you take in the tranquility of the forest. If you like s'mores and toasted marshmallows, this cabin offers access to a community fire pit for your favorite campfire treats.

From Bears Rest, you are in close proximity to a variety of sensational attractions. The popular town of Alpine Helen is only about 5 miles away. Modeled after a Bavarian Village, Helen provides a unique experience. While you're there, you can explore shops and galleries, restaurants and candy stores. If you time your visit right, you can experience one of Helen's exciting annual festivals, like Oktoberfest. The cabin is located near Unicoi State Park, making it easy to discover the natural wonders of the region. From the park, you can take hikes on the many trails, cross over sparkling creeks and climb to see the tumbling waterfalls. Whether you are here for adventure, relaxation, or both, you're sure to have an amazing time!

• Minimum Age Requirement: Bears Rest is available to families or to guests 21 years and older.
• Parking: Space is available for 2 vehicles.
• Access: The road is dirt and gravel to the cabin. Not recommended for low-profile vehicles.
• Pets: Bears Rest is Not pet-friendly. No pets allowed.
• Location: 4.5 miles to downtown Helen

Cozy Getaway

Quiet and close location to Unicoi State Park and the town of Helen. Clean cabin. The hot tub was a nice touch, we just couldn't get the light to come on. We enjoyed our stay!

Bear’s Rest Cabin

The cabin overall was nice and comfortable. The only issue we had was that the tv did not work. It was replaced the day after I called. The hot tub was used once , but the clean filter/change water alert was on. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. We purchased firewood so we could enjoy a fire in the evening. We were close to a few parks, so we enjoyed hiking to see a couple of waterfalls and we went zip lining. The alpine town of Helen was close and very interesting to visit. We enjoyed walking around the town and experiencing the mountain coaster ride.

Older Cabin

Overall really liked the area of the cabin. Was clean as far as countertops bathroom but deep clean it wasnt. Had a bad oder to it as soon as you walk in. Lots of spiderwebs all over. I know its in the woods but could have been way better as far as that goes.

Super Cozy

The accomodations were exactly what we needed. A comfortable bed. The kitchen had enough supplies for us for the few days that we were there. Clean bathroom. Jacuzzi was quiet nice as well. 5Stars all around.

Cozy Retreat

This was a perfect escape to destress. Hot tub was nice. Fireplace was cozy. It was nice. The only real issue, was no oven mits, and only one steak knife. Everything else was just fine.

My family absolutely loved Bears Rest! The cabin was secluded, but not that far away from everything! We loved the cabin and the jacuzzi for sure!!

I loved Bears Rest cabin with exception of hot tub not working well there were 2 jet settings only 1 worked and lights in hot tub did not work. Other than not being able to get relaxed in hot tub the cabin was really nice bed was comfortable AC worked good water pressure for shower was good but extremely little water pressure for bathroom sink. Overall I would definitely stay in Bears Rest cabin again.

Would stay here again.

This place is very comfortable and we had no problems checking in and out. The back porch faces another home and the road but its hard to see anything through the trees so its very peaceful. The only thing we did not like is the first night there were dogs barking all night making it hard to sleep. The second and third night were much quieter.

My Weekend

Very nice place to stay, very quiet. But as to the ramp it needs a railing to make it safer for the step up. Also the outside lights at the driveway were not working.
