Summary: Welcome to our quaint seaside cottage located in the picturesque iceberg alley area of Newfoundland. This cozy retreat offers breathtaking scenic views and stunning sunrises, with the Atlantic Ocean at your doorstep. Spend your days exploring the rugged coastline and visiting historic fishing villages including scenic Twillingate (only a 15 minute drive). In the evenings, unwind with your favourite drink as you watch the sun dip below the horizon painting the sky in hues of pink and orange.
The Space: This sweet cottage has been lovingly renovated by its owners. You'll enter the cottage through the side/rear door, just off of the driveway, into a small foyer. From there you'll enter the fully-equipped, chef-friendly kitchen with views to the ocean. There is a laundry (washer/dryer) off of the kitchen. On the water-facing side of the home, the kitchen flows into a super cozy living area with bright large windows exposing the ocean view and lots of natural light. There is one bedroom (queen bed) off of the main floor living area on the backside of the home. Also on the main floor, you'll find a full bathroom, with soaking tub and standing shower. The other two bedrooms are upstairs (queen bed and two single beds). All bedrooms are equipped with deluxe linens and cotton bedding. There is also a lovely small sitting area upstairs with swivel chairs overlooking the ocean; a perfect nook for enjoying your morning coffee or evening cocktail. There is a small deck/patio at the side/rear of the home (where you enter) with outdoor seating.
Guest Access: There is one parking spot located directly next to the home. One week prior to your stay, you will be provided a door code to access the property.
The Neighborhood: Merritt's Harbour is a tiny, historic fishing village located in the scenic area known as Herring Neck. Herring Neck is only a short 15-minute drive from Twillingate, where you'll find all amenities (gas station, grocery stores, liquor store, pharmacy, restaurants, entertainment, etc.). Herring Neck offers beautiful scenery which can be enjoyed by simply walking the roads or by traversing the various local walking paths.
Getting Around: Most guests to the Twillingate area arrive by car. Although the walking/hiking in the area is incredible and steps from most accommodations, a car is necessary to access some of the sights (i.e. Long Point Light House, various trail heads, etc.)
