My stay at the Hilton Garden Inn was two weeks. I chose this hotel because of its proximity of where I needed to be.
The first room I stayed in for the first week was very good. The room was spacious and clean with a comfortable king-size bed, a bathtub, and an overhead and a hand-held shower. But the noise of the heating fan was quite loud and it took some getting used to.
• The general appearance of the lobby is clean.
• The gardens around the building are nicely kept.
• The staff is very courteous and kind.
• Due to the nature of my stay, I had no meals or drinks in the hotel so I cannot comment on their quality.
For my second week, I had to have two queen beds so I had to change rooms. This stay was tiring and unpleasant.
The noise of the fan in this type of room is a lot noisier than the first room I was in. In one of the rooms, the heating did not work properly which made it necessary for me to change rooms yet again!
This stay was substandard due to:
• the noise of the fan woke me up and it prevented a restful sleep
• the ripped sheer curtains are in need of cleaning and mending
• The carpets show their age
• The bathroom is quite small and there is only an overhead shower which I couldn’t reach to control.
The staff, however, tried to accommodate as much as it was possible given the issues of the hotel.
