Location
Set in a quiet street on the outskirts of Sennori, guests can explore this interesting town. The area is known for its olive oil and wine, as well as its artisan traditions, particularly the production of traditional clothes. Festivals during the summer and autumn celebrate these traditions.
Sardinia’s north-western coast is less developed than the better-known Costa Smeralda but there is a lot to see and do close by. The house is only 15 minutes from the beach, the Spiaggia Marina di Sorso and just 30 minutes from the picturesque town of Castelsardo, considered one of the ‘100 Most Beautiful Villages in Italy’. The village gets its name from Doria Castle which dominates the clifftop and is in excellent condition. Exploring the winding streets and enjoying the local restaurants makes a rewarding day out.
The fascinating city of Sassari (20 minutes) is one of the oldest cities on the island. Its historic centre is home to many palaces and fine churches but it is less touristy than many other towns on the island. For fans of local food, the city’s Mercato Civico promotes the best and freshest regional ingredients. The new covered market may not have the charm of a street market but the produce on sale more than makes up for this.
Alghero airport is 40 minutes away.
