Sitting on the shores of Douglas Lake with private lake access and dock, this cabin is in the perfect location for the family looking to get away for a wet and wild adventure. Bring your boat, or rent one nearby, because this cabin offers nearby ramp access, and a private dock to park it on the lake overnight. The covered wrap around porch features a hot tub, rocking chairs, swing, and a gas grill that all overlook beautiful Douglas Lake, which has some of the best views the Smokies have to offer! Your family can spend the days enjoying all the adventures that Douglas Lake has to offer, and your nights relaxing in all the modern comforts of home. Walking into the cabin you are greeted with hardwood throughout, a fully furnished kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, a kitchen island with sink, and all the modern comforts one comes to expect in a vacation property. This cabin comes with a seasonal wood burning fireplace, 55-inch flat screen TV, two full baths, and two master suites that each have a king size bed. The upstairs of the cabin has been set up to be an upper-level kids retreat with a custom set of queen size bunk beds, sleeper sofa, sitting area, pool table, multi-cade stand up arcade machine, and a flat screen 50-inch TV with DVD player. The kids can slip away into their own personal level in the third-floor loft area with TV and bed mats. This cabin is great for a quick family getaway, or for the family looking to spend some time on the water. Smoke on the Water is within the Douglas Lake Resort and has access to the seasonal outdoor pool. Douglas Lake hosts some of the best views in the Smokies period! The cabin was clean and spacious. We had 6 adults in our party and never felt over crowded. The staff was friendly and quick to respond. The water level was low, therefore we could not enjoy the amenities of the dock or lake. But the hot tub was perfect for relaxing. The water pressure in the shower was amazing. We would stay again.

The cabin was nice. There were a few things we had issues with. The direct tv didnt work on the main level but we decided not to call about it. The heat also was not working properly. We did call about that but didnt get a call back for the resolution. Overall it was a nice cabin. Be prepared they only supply basics.

The cabin was very private. My husband and I came for a relaxing couple of days and this cabin did not disappoint. Although we did not cook our meals we could have because the cabin had everything to do that. The cabin is far enough away from the crowds but close enough to be in pigeon gorge or gatlinburg quick. We would stay here a gain.

The cabin was a great place to stay. My kids enjoyed the hot tub and my husband enjoyed fishing in the lake and I loved the view! The ladies working at Fireside Chalets were absolutely amazing and so nice.

Our overall stay didn't meet our expectations, with a notable disappointment being the lake level, which had receded beyond the dock. Surprisingly, the listing didn't mention the seasonal fluctuations in lake levels despite advertising "private dock access" or "lake access." Moreover, the cleanliness of the cabin left much to be desired. Cobwebs were widespread in corners and around lighting fixtures, and it appeared that areas under the beds had been overlooked for some time. The loft was particularly unsatisfactory, containing dirty cotton swabs and trash left behind by previous occupants. Even minor details became frustrating; some TV remotes lacked batteries. Despite the onsite washer/dryer being a helpful amenity that allowed us to address some cleanliness issues ourselves, I cannot recommend staying here based on our overall experience.

The cabin was just as described on VRBO. Very nice cabin with a beautiful view of the lake and very nice dock. The water depth in late June was 14’ perfect for swimming and docking a ski boat. I called early on the day of check in to ask about launching a boat and was pleasantly surprised to be allowed early check in. However, there are areas that could be improved. The beds in the loft were not very comfortable. Also, there was a board missing on the walkway to the dock which could be dangerous for older people and children. I received an email the day before check in saying that towels and paper products were limited and we should bring our own if planning on staying more than a couple of days. It would have been nice to know that when we booked or better yet to just have more provided by the owner. Over all I would recommend this rental, just be sure to bring towels and paper goods.

Found on VBRO but really registration process was through Fire side chalets. Cabin was clean and everything was nice and enjoyed stay. Location on VBRO was not as listed. I was looking for cabins located on Muddy creek on Douglas to fish and have short boat runs everyday. This was shown as on Muddy creek which is why I rented it. However you do not get the actual address from Fireside chalets until day of check in which was after I paid a non refundable trip. They also don’t provide maps of their cabins on their website that I could find. This cabin was a 20 min boat ride to where I wanted to fish and was just up from Flatt creek near the dam instead of mid lake. Cabin was great and having marked trailer parking was a plus but wouldn’t have booked based upon location.

We really enjoyed are stay. The place was very nice and clean. There were a couple things that could be improved. My husband was very disappointed that there were no ESPN stations on the TV. Also the box upstairs had the wrong remote and took us till the second day to realize it and could not use the upstairs TV until we figured that out. I feel that the people that go in and clean, should make sure that everything is working and in good order or not broke, and if it is they should notify someone to have it taken care of before the people coming to stay, get there. Checking in is after 4:30 and the address is not given until that time. Which also makes it difficult when coming from another state. But this still gives plenty of time for things to be corrected if there is an issue. Another thing is that one of the main reasons that I chose this cabin was for the view of the water that was supposed to be there, as that is the main picture of the cabin. The lake was pretty much empty. That was very disappointing. When we first got there. we looked at the beds and noticed that one of the beds had a little bit of a sag in the middle. This was very noticeable. When the other couple went to go to bed. the middle of the bed collapsed. I called the office and got the answering service. They notated the issue and said that they put in the system. When I called the next morning, it seemed like there was nothing notated at all about this. First of all, if there were people going in and cleaning, why would they not notice this and if they did, why was it not reported and fixed. The other couple had to sleep in this bed all night this way, That was not very comfortable for them to try to sleep without being on top of each other. 2nd, if I had not called back, I do not know if it would have gotten fixed that day and we had plans to be out most of the day. Other then those few things, we truly enjoyed our stay and would come back again

The views are what the pictures show. Gorgeous, especially in the fall. I was surprised the lake was drained and we weren’t informed so you couldn’t access water easily from the dock. We had a quick trip and it was perfect for our family.

Two bedrooms on the main floor each have their own bathroom. Upstairs was a neat hang out/game room. The loft up top was a favorite for my older kids and teens. BEWARE of the stairs. The stairs going down to the lake are pretty steep, not too easy with little kids. There is no beach area to get into the water, only a dock. Overall the trip was a lot of fun and we were happy with the cabin.

Relaxing, great location, we loved that we had our own private dock. Water was super clear and clean. The location was great for going into Gatlinburg and pigeon Forge. We rented a boat one day right on Douglas lake, super fun for all the family! Would definitely stay again, awesome family vacation!
