Otter Haven - Peaceful, Tranquil & Private Beachfront Getaway on Harstine Island
Come leave stress behind, and unwind on the water's edge of beautiful Peale Passage in the South Sound, across from the pristine forested vista of Squaxin Island.
Two resident otters love to play and fish in the water in the morning, and there are deer, foxes, seals, blue herons, osprey, eagles, mergansers and other wildlife.
Paddle, hike, have a bonfire. Otter Haven has its own beach with low-bank water access, and is peaceful and private.
On Harstine Island there is a Saturday Farmer's Market at the Community Center, and a Felid Advocacy Center that is a must-visit, with advance planning.
There are several parks on the island and abundant opportunities to paddle (and swim if you don't mind cold water!) A boat launch is located nearby, and Otter Haven is less than an hour from Olympic National Park, Hood Canal, Lake Cushman, and other amenities. Shelton, the nearest large community has shopping, restaurants, antique stores, and a Farmer's Market.
The house is perfect for a small family get-together or get-away!
