“We were lucky to find Big Timbers for our Itasca State Park weekend. The location is ideal being right across the street from the North entrance. The rooms perfect size for a small family or couple. Everything was new and clean and we had everything we needed for a great stay. We loved the ice cream and pizza from the store on site. ”

“My wife and I (and our 16-year old dog) came. My wife and I wanted to see the headwaters of the Mississippi. Our dog, blind and deaf, just wanted to be with us. It is a great location, and we really enjoyed the flock of wild turkeys that visited. This was the last trip our dog took with us (we had to put him to sleep shortly after we returned home). I think of Big Timbers with fondness as the last really good memory of our time with the dog.”

“Our stay was just wonderful! It was just me and my good friend who booked a trip to hike the area and this was the perfect size. The detailing of the home was so spot on. Very clean, modern, homey and comfortable. Tammy was available but we never had to contact her as she had thought of everything! Would love to bring the family here to check out and totally recommend this beautiful place to others. ”

“I loved my stay here. It's a beautiful property, with all sorts of thoughtful touches. There was even a cute little welcome basket that had stuff for s'mores - yum! One thing I will note for anyone staying here: Walk the trails. They're really neat. I saw so many cool things on the trails and just sitting outside of the house. Do be careful for ticks though. I went out last night and came back with eight little friends! I hope something eventually brings me back to this area because I would love……

“Cabin was better than the photos. It was immaculately clean and well stocked. The owners were easy to work with. The lake water was clear and clean with a shallow sandy beach right outside.
