“Car park a treck if you have items to carry. Digital key code would not work setting alarm off. Told to wait 45 mins for someone to come and re set until she remembered emergency key in cupboard in hallway. Flat lovely inside however bathroom lock was broken and no cold water coming through the shower scalding us. Reported but nonresponse. Fans on and off from building next door. When going out in the morning seeing the entrance in daylight was horrible. Bins and just not a safe looking place.……

“This stay at Blackthorn went above and beyond what I needed - some time and space for myself to write. In the comfort and peace of this hut in this location, I was able to write nearly 10,000 words, unheard of in my everyday busy life at home! “We stayed and on entering were very impressed with the size/decor and cleanliness. It had everything we needed as a party of 6. The location was quiet and we didnt see a soul. Had a driveway for parking.
We would stay again as it was perfect for us.
The conservatory would be nice cleared of spare beds and some nice furniture would be a great addition and some outside weeding is needed but these are just picky things, neither affected our stay.

“We arrived a little early and greeted by Pauline who is extremely welcoming and friendly. Our suite (Tailors) was ready and we were able to check in. Everything was immaculate, including the lovely garden which has plenty of seating. Thoughtful provision of milk, orange juice, water, biscuits plus teas and coffee was very welcome after a long journey. Location to the characterful town of Woodstock is perfect, just a few minutes stroll and you are amongst the shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.……

"We happened to stay during a heatwave. The room had no air conditioning, only a fan.
The room was spacious but really needs an update.
The corners of the bed and the duvet cover were torn.
The wallpaper was also peeling.
The bathroom renovation was acceptable.
Breakfast was in buffet style but the refills were too slow—there was nothing left to eat and all the juices ran out."
