“This was the perfect homebase to explore Santiago de Compostela and the surrounding towns. It was clean, quiet. It had all the conveniences and a good support system in case we didn’t understand how to use them. The parking lot worked out fine as soon as we found a shortcut from the apartment. They are almost side-by-side actually. The café near the apartment opened by 9:30 AM and had wonderful Café con Leche with a complementary side of tortilla de papatas. “As this is the first review of the property we will try and be constructive. The apartment was very clean and everything was new. However the property differed greatly from our expectations. Look carefully at the photos on the website because the outside areas all relate to the large villa. Our apartment overlooked a building site where an old house was being renovated . “We spent 3 days and nights at Juan’s cottage which is a beautifully decorated old mill house, complete with a waterway funneling into a creek on the property. The home is comfortable and more than adequately supplied with kitchen, bathroom and bedroom accessories. The bedrooms are spacious and all have an en-suite bathroom. “After many nights in an albergue on the Camino, this property was spacious and comfortable, and incredibly quiet. The location is walking distance from the cathedral square and all of the bars and restaurants but it is at the top of quite a steep hill. 15 minutes walk into the city, and about 25 mins back home. The closest supermarket is about 12 minutes walk back up the hill. The shower water pressure and temperature was excellent and it had all the appliances you need for a pleasant stay.”
