Raven's Roost- Cedar A-Frame Cabin Directly On The Ocean.

This bright and airy Cedar A-Frame nestled within the trees that Eagles are perched upon, sits directly on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Breath taking beauty and panoramic views of Sitka Sound and Mt Edgecumbe Volcano are unobstructed from the windows and the 3 separate decks. Watch for whales, otters, sea lions and eagles or even the resident hummingbird while enjoying your morning coffee or in the evening as you relax and listen to the waves.
Bedroom one located off the main living area has a comfortable king size bed with spectacular views while laying down, a bathroom with a washer and dryer, and a small deck.
Bedroom two, up steep stairs, on the second level also has a comfortable queen size bed with captivating views, a full bathroom and its very own secluded deck with amazing views of the surrounding islands and Mt Edgecumbe Volcano.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to create a meal, just bring the food. We provide basic spices, coffee, tea and cocoa. The living area provides a smart flat screen tv ready for streaming with your streaming app. The largest secluded deck is located off the main living area and has a propane gas grill to prepare your freshly caught seafood or enjoy a juicy steak. It is a wonderful place to watch the fishing boats and breathe in fresh sea air while you relax from all your adventures of the day.
For adventure, explore the tidal pools at low tide, right outside your door, fish off the rocks steps from the cabin, drive or walk up Harbor Mountain Road, across the street, for hiking trails or the world class view of Sitka and the surrounding mountains, islands and the Pacific Ocean.

Amazing property! Everything that we could have wanted! Bed and pillows were comfortable. It was such a nice treat to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves. Such an amazing property that exceed our expectations. If we ever make it back to Sitka, I would love to stay here again!

Perfect spot near Sitka

We spent 3 days at Raven's Roost after a 5 day Linblad cruise through the inside passage. The location cannot be beat! It is right on the water with beautiful views and the sound of waves just off the deck. The tide pools out front are amazing! You'll see sea stars, crabs, small fish, and anemone at low tide. There are some bald eagles that hang out in the trees next to the deck. We saw sea lions several times out the windows of the master bedroom. And we enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the fire pit near the water. I can't imagine a more perfect spot to stay for a visit to Sitka!

Amazing!!

Ravens Roost was the best rental we’ve stayed in by far! Everything was perfect! Katy and Jack made sure all the little detail's were covered! All the kitchen needs as well as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all there. The beds AND pillows were all very comfortable and quality! The views from the entire back of the house and the decks were absolutely amazing!! We never got bored watching the boats and wildlife! Exploring the beach and the tide pools were pretty neat too!! All I can say is WOW!! We will definitely be back!! Until next time Sitka!! pillows were

We had a great time at Ravins Roost. Beautiful setting right on the water. We saw bald eagles and ravins flying by all the time. It was neat seeing the boats come and go. The tidal pools right outside our door yielded starfish and anemones galore! The apartment was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well stocked with cook wear. We will come back!

Gorgeous relaxing view

This cozy cabin provides the ultimate Sitka view! It’s a perfect size for two couples. Even with dreary weather during our visit we were able to enjoy the tide pools in the backyard and sip coffee watching the boats cruise in front of Mt. Edgecumbe. The hosts were very accommodating and the cabin was clean and equipped for our arrival. Hope to stay at Raven’s Roost again!

Relaxing paradise

Absolutely beautiful cabin, location, and view!!!! We loved it! Wish we had better weather during our stay and most restaurants/activities were closed, but we did go to Alaska in March. Thankfully we had an awesome cabin with views to look at!

Sitka 2023

Had a fabulous time on our second visit to Sitka. Raven’s Roost is just as described and in the pictures. Fantastic location on the water side of the road, close to town, close to estuary for bear-watching, close to grocery store, and perfect deck and indoor area to drink wine and watch the sunsets. Sea kayaking, looking for bears, Alaska day festivities, tons of halibut and chips.

Beautiful accommodation and views

4 adults stayed here for 3 nights before our Alaska Dream Cruise. The accommodation was great and the decks for viewing. We also loved the fire pit. Getting into town is 3.4 miles. Bus system only runs Mon-Fri. We were lucky that our cruise onshore support gave us a couple of lifts and a local neighbour. Overall we highly recommend this accommodation.

Perfect Spot for Relaxation

I'm always nervous when I book a VRBO - you hope it will be half as good as the photos and reviews say it is!! Well, Raven's Roost was even better than we expected! Katy was so kind in keeping us updated of our check in time and made check in super easy! The highlights of the home are the gorgeous views with sliding glass door you can open and listen to the ocean, even when it's raining (and be prepared, it can rain A LOT in Sitka). We had eagles roosting in the trees beside the balcony and loved hearing them "talking" to each other! We did see a couple of sea lion heads out in the water but with all the rain, we weren't able to stay out on the balcony to look for whales. But having left Texas with 110 degree weather, having to look through the sliding glass doors at rain and 54 degrees was heaven! We loved having a washer and dryer; loved that there were 2 separate bedroom and bathroom areas. Be aware that the secondary bedroom upstairs is a loft with steep stairs (we were aware before hand and it was not a problem!). The kitchen was extremely well stocked - even with items like flour, sugar, coffee, oatmeal, spices. And the refrigerator had a great assortment of condiments. We cooked almost all meals (3 meals a day for 3 days) and it was fabulous. There is a propane grill on the balcony. There isn't a dishwasher but that wasn't a problem either. Actually I can't even think of a problem the entire time we were there!

Great Cabin in a Great Location

All of the decks have spectacular views. The view from the downstairs bed is just amazing to wake up to. Cabin is clean and has all of the needed amenities. Kitchen is well stocked and we cooked several really good meals. Location is perfect, just far enough out of town to get isolation but not too far. Grocery is close. There is a downstairs renter below that is not mentioned in the property description but that was absolutely not a problem at all. Property worked great for us and I would rent it again

Dream Come True

I cannont say enough good things about Raven's Roost! This was probably the absolute best place we've stayed through VRBO! It was such a nice place, the pictures don't even show how beautiful the views and other awesome qualities of this place actually were. We've been home a few days now and are already thinking about how and when we can get back to Jack & Katy's house and beautiful Sitka! Everything we needed was there, the guys fished off the rocks at the back of the house (caught a bunch too), we had a campfire at least 2 nights while watching an amazing sunset and woke up to eagles screeching at each other in the mornings. A beautiful and relaxing time. We highly recommend this place!

Great accommodations

We stayed here for a week. The location is amazing. All kinds of wildlife to see right in front of the balcony. We saw Whales, sea lions, and many bald eagles. We will definitely stay here again. The hosts were very gracious and accommodating. This place is highly recommended.

Sweet!

Katy and Jack's place is a sweet place to stay if you travel to Sitka. It was clean and well equipped and the hosts were friendly and communicative. The 'stairs' to the upstairs bed and bath are very steep which could be a potential issue for some guests. Also be aware that there is a living unit below the rental. But we will stay here again if we are lucky enough to visit Sitka again in the future

Peaceful and relaxing home

The views from the main bedroom are stunning!! We loved lying in bed and watching the bald eagles sore past the corner windows. The tide pools right below the house are amazing as well! Very nice to be close to town, but outside of town. Quiet neighborhood. The only odd thing was that I didn't see where the listing clearly stated that you are not renting the entire structure. There is another apartment right below the house. It was fine - never heard the people there - but not what I was expecting when we booked. If you look really closely at the photos it is mentioned in one of them. That being said, we would definitely rent this property again if we ever go back to Sitka.

Amazing stay!

Our family came to Sitka to explore and experience Alaska. We had an amazing time! This rental is a really nice home in a great location! The views were amazing! It was nice having coffee on the deck in the morning! We saw eagles, whales, and of course ravens, from the decks. We will definitely come back to Sitka!!!
