We had booked and were allocated a family room with one double and two single beds for 3 women attending a conference however we were given two doubles so had to be moved so a bit inconvenient. 👎

I was surprised that after we hsd been put into the first room which was wrong the second room was no better shower dudnt work, a black stain in the bath, the shampoo and conditioner broken unable to use, went down for breakfast and after i was told which room number I was i was placed at a table, to which i went up to get my breakfast, i was than approached by the same lady on the door asking myself and my daughter had we paid for breakfast im sorry but I and my daughter were mortified cause of course i had paid for breakfast in the price that id be given. Stayed 3 nights in family room with wife and 1 yo, tried to book for 1 more night due to change in circumstance and woman at front desk with blond hair and glasses was extremely rude and unhelpful. Asked could we get help to move bags from one room to the next as at the time alone with baby, told nobody there to help. Rest of the staff especially in gym/playroom area helpful. Separately, the front entrance is a nightmare with those doors that are too small, the ramp is around the side of building but on two occasions the doors were lock so couldn't get in with buggy, have to lift up front steps. Staff watch as pushed buggy and luggage trolly to room without offering assistance, when the room is on third floor and through 8 fire doors which all closed

We checked in for a one-night stay & had an interesting night. The convention rooms are large and well-connected to the hotel, and we were lucky enough to come while the Sligo Tattoo convention was on, so we both got tattooed while we stayed! Our check-in and other interactions with the front desk staff were good, but I wouldn't say they overextended themselves to be helpful. Perhaps it was simply due to the hotel being quite busy over the weekend. Adding an ATM machine in the lobby or restaurant/bar may be a good idea. The Restaurant had excellent service, and the food was outstanding! We enjoyed our supper and breakfast quite thoroughly! Our look into the history of the hotel building provided us with some interesting reading. Its past as a hospital ( and prior as an insane asylum*) did not deter us from enjoying it, but did explain some things that seemed like remnants of that time ( the locking doors for floor access which have no relation to that past, but did hearken back to it) we enjoyed our stay. However, the hot tub was undergoing repair or renovation. The pool had lane swimming on the morning we went down to access it. It held three elderly people who were vigorously getting in their exercise, which was wonderful but made for no swimming for us. Overall a nice stay. The bed & pillows were extremely comfortable, & our shower head was one of the better ones we experienced on our trip. we were saddened that there was no tub, but that may have been my room choice

The hotel was clean and comfortable, staff pleasant but unfortunately the room above ours was a very noisy one!! We did not get much sleep and ended up checking out at 7am due to the noise restarting just before 6am A disappointing night especially after having a lovely meal in the bar where the service was excellent.
