Charming farmhouse in peaceful countryside

This charming old farmhouse has been newly updated and sits on a working farm with idyllic views of a pond, fields, and farm life right outside it's large windows! The inside is adorned in chic farmhouse style with everything you need to feel at home!

Enjoy your morning coffee at the kitchen table or on the patio, both overlooking a peaceful pond, adorable outbuildings, and cows grazing the fields. In the winter, cozy up to a warm fire in the indoor wood stove! In the summer or fall enjoy the outdoors with a fire under a starry sky in the fire pit by the pond, or take a walk at sunset back the lane to view the large sky surrounded by open fields. The house includes everything you need to be at home, including a full kitchen with a dishwasher, washer, dryer, wifi, and tv with streaming capabilities. The main level bedroom has a queen sized bed, while the upstairs bedroom has a king size bed, and a landing on the second floor has a double. There are two bathrooms on the main level, one with a tub/shower and one with a standing shower. Upstairs, children will be delighted by the Kid’s Cubby, a nook the perfect size with toys and decor just for them.

Situated in the peaceful countryside, the property is less than 10 minutes to the nearest town with grocery store, restaurants, shops, live theatre and sites. It’s 15 minutes from various popular walking and biking trails. It is 45 minutes drive from Notre Dame and 1 hr. 10 min. drive to various beaches along the shore of Lake Michigan.

**This is a working farm with cows, chickens, and our famous friendly farm dog, Dixie who views herself as the concierge of the farmhouse. The house itself is situated beside a main farmhouse which is occupied by the farmer and his wife. There will be farm activity going on outside the main house, but the little farmhouse is completely separate and has its own drive and parking.

*Because of the steep stairway, woodstove, and pond, the house may not be conducive to toddlers or very young children not able to navigate these things. Parents use your discretion.

We stayed in this lovely update 1920’s Farmhouse while our home (RV) was in the shop. This has been my favorite VRBO that we’ve stayed in over the years. The home was very comfortable, well appointed, bright, cheerful and the owner was very attentive. Everything is provided at this VRBO to make it a home away from home.A week into the stay I found a cute little playroom room at the top of the stairs which would have been a great haven for young children. Dixie the dog was a welcome addition as greeter each time we pulled in the driveway.I wish we could have stayed longer to see the blooming of the trees and flowers. We will definitely return. Thanks again for a pleasant stay.

From start to finish, this charming farmhouse was perfect. From the updated decor to the ample sleeping space to the wood burning stove, this place has it all. Clean, cozy, and comfortable. Dixie the dogs warm welcome and watchful eye was an added bonus. We definitely would recommend this house to family and friends!

What an excellent home to get away from the chaotic city life. The home is located in the country and on a farm. Upon arrival we were greeted by the farm dog Dixie, who is friendly and fun to have around. The house was extremely clean and had all the necessary kitchen needs. The kitchen area has a large seating area that overlooks the barns, cows, pond and fields. The living room area is comfortable and is equipped with a smart TV and wood burning stove. Two bathrooms are downstairs as is the main bedroom. Two more bedrooms can be found upstairs. All beds are very comfortable. There is a garage that has a ping pong table inside, which was fun to play. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave and coffee maker. During our trips to town, it was interesting to see all the Amish buggies being ridden down the roads. We look forward to returning in the summer and having the ability to enjoy the porch, which is connected to the kitchen, as well as the fire pit located near the pond. Watching the farm activity will be a good time as well. If looking to experience some farm life, this place is a home run.

We just got back from a really great weekend! The rental house was the cutest farmhouse and was decorated so so nicely. It’s so warm and inviting! Dixie, the dog that lives on the property was our absolute favorite. The house is located on a farm and it was fun to watch the farm animals and it was such a beautiful setting. All of the beds were super comfortable and the house was nicely stocked with the necessities. The owners were super responsive and helpful and made sure that our stay was top notch. We already can’t wait to go back again next year! This may have been my favorite rental property I’ve ever stayed at.

The beds were O.K. and it was clean but not deep clean. A few too many spiders and spider webs. I had to cancel a few days and was charged almost double from advertised price. That was a real let down.

We absolutely loved staying here with the kids. The house and the farm are beautiful with so much attention to every single detail. Michelle and her family are so welcoming they made us feel at home away from home. And then there’s Dixie, such a good dog! I really hope we have the chance to come back again soon.

Loved being at your wonderful farmhouse. It was exactly what we were hoped it would be, but better. So clean. So immaculately stocked with so much high quality items from the coffee to the towels - the feeling we had was that we were staying as favored cousins and not just guests. Your coffee set up was SO PERFECT. We so enjoyed the back deck and the peaceful atmosphere and the energy of a working farm. We hope it will work out again to stay with you and be greeted by Dixie. What a sweet part of our visit.
