Coastal cottage. . Farm and sea

This is a brand new Post and Beam style cottage with 2 bedrooms and sleeps 5 comfortably. Open floor plan and large deck over looking a pasture. Built on a 5 acre farm just 10 minutes to local beaches, you will experience old South County living, surrounded by working farms with peace and quiet away from the crowds. A short drive gets you to local beaches. The Galilee Fishing Port is nearby with a very active and productive fishing fleet, one of the biggest in the U.S. The Block Island Ferry is also located in Galilee. Downtown Wakefield is 5 minutes away with local shops,restaurants and markets. Newport is a 25 minute ride, The University of Rhode Island is 10 minutes and Providence is 30 minutes.

NOTICE: Monthly rentals are available during the months of June, July and August at a discounted rate. It is recommended to book monthly rentals as soon as possible to ensure reservation before weekly rentals are booked.

Summer Cottage Serenade

We had a lovely stay at Summer Cottage. Very chill place to relax in lovely surroundings in the midst of farms, close to beaches and the lovely town of Wakefield. Cottage is very cute and has everything we needed for the three of us. Our Havi Harry loved his stay.Dean

Relocation atopover

Relocating to Boston from DC with my two mid-sized dogs. Have family in Wakefield and Narragansett so wanted to stop here for a week before fully committing to a place up near the city. Daughter was with me for a few nights. Place was PERFECT. Exactly what we needed. Great for the dogs. Far enough off the road I didn’t have to worry about them mixing with the cars too much. Beautiful… morning coffee on the back deck…threw the frisbee in the afternoon. Hiking trails and parks nearby. Easy access to dog beach a few miles away, or Narragansett beach. And all the accouterments of home. Dean and Nancy are super and easy to work with. Highly recommend from anything to a romantic getaway for two, or a beach week for a small family with a pet. Or anything in between.

Country getaway

This quiet home offers beachy RI-style New England charm on a country road. The cottage is set behind the host’s home, but still offers a lot of privacy with your own backyard area that overlooks a beautiful field filled with milkweed, and thus butterflies. The property also features chickens and other lovely farm animals. The cabin was well stocked with bedding, bath, and kitchenwares. They provide laundry room access and even beach furniture! This is the perfect stay if you want to be a short ride from the beach, while enjoying a little country seclusion. The hosts are so flexible and responsive as well.

The kindest people with the best place

The house was absolutely beautiful and so cozy. We were made to feel like royalty, everything was provided for us, The hosts Dean and Nancy made sure we had anything we needed and we're extremely understanding and giving when it came to some difficult situations that popped up. What an absolutely beautiful and kind family with a gorgeous place so close to the beaches.

for a relaxing vacation close to everything

We had a great week at Dean's. The house is just like the pictures. Perfect for a family stay. Very well equipped and the garden is large and safe for children. The donkeys will keep the kids happy while you lounge on the patio. The village of Wakefield is really charming and has everything we need within a 10 minute drive. The beaches are 15 minutes away and are superb. For paddle boarders, there's a calm lake just a 2-minute drive away. Newport is a beautiful town 30 minutes away. We loved our stay and will return one day! Dean is very kind and helpful and always responds quickly if we have any questions. Thanks again for everything Dean. Emma misses Jake and Duke very much

Newport getaway

Nancy and Deans cottage was a wonderful place to stay during our recent Rhode Island vacation. The detached cottage has a great layout and was cozy while at the same time allowing our family to stretch out. The kids loved greeting the donkeys and the geese in the morning and generally exploring the grounds. And the location close to Wakefield, several beaches and Newport was a big plus. Our only issue was that it seemed like the cottage was hurriedly cleaned after the previous stay and we found it a little rough around the edges when it came to clean counters, etc. Not that it was dirty, just not as crisp as we have experienced at other stays. Nancy and Dean were very hospitable however and let us know they were around if we needed anything, but also giving us full privacy during our stay. We would certainly come back and look forward to an opportunity to do so.

Peaceful get-away, close to all beaches.

Relaxing mornings waking up to the friendly donkeys and comical geese. Beaches all afternoon with either side of the salt pond easily accessible. Great dinners at night, restaurants or eating in. The hosts were very prompt when we asked about anything. We enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful Farm Retreat Minutes from Beaches

We had a wonderful stay at this immaculate and peaceful property which was thoughtfully furnished with modern appliances and everything we needed. The comfiest beds! Property is perfectly situated just minutes from area attractions and beaches. We loved meeting all the sweet animals too! Thank you so much for your hospitality, we definitely hope to return.

Great stay!

We had a great stay! Dean and Nancy were very responsive and helpful! Their cottage was perfect for our family as we were there to watch our son play college summer baseball. It was quiet and secluded yet close to Old Mountain field and to the beach, and about a half hour from Newport. The cottage is furnished nicely and was equipped with everything we needed, from pots and pans to beach chairs!

Cute spot

I stayed in July with my family of four. That included little boys. They had a great time meeting the donkeys. The hosts were friendly and inviting and the property was clean and tidy. There are gooses on the property that can get a little noisy but they didn't bother me very much. The cabin is a short drive to the major beaches. Although I found the state beaches easier to access than the town beach due to parking and suggest going in the morning as opposed to waiting for the afternoon. Overall I would highly recommend this property. We had a great time. It's a super cute little cabin.

Cottage on a farm

This is our second time and had another wonderful mini vacation. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. My girls and the dog had so much fun with all the animals. Location is perfect- right by the beaches, great restaurants and activities. Cant wait to go back!

Donkeys, cats and geese, oh my!

Dean’s place was peaceful and quiet. Very convenient location, 10 mins from the beach. We enjoyed the adorable animals; donkey, mule, geese and friendly cats each day. As a family of 3, the cottage was a good size, might be a little small for a larger family.

Another amazing stay!

This is my second time staying at this property and it was another perfect trip! The location could not be better and the house itself is wonderful - fully stocked kitchen, great outdoor space (with animals!) and ample parking. We are from the area but now live out of town, so we can attest to the location! Great spot. Nice, private cottage on the property, lovely farm. House itself had everything we needed and was nicely appointed. Will definitely rent again if we have the need!

Long weekend in Wakefield

I would had given this place a 10! The house is so nice I love the post and beam the farm animals are cute and the location was fine! This house sits behind the property owners home but there is plenty of privacy. The house looked tidy but the kitchen was not clean. The stove top was filthy as well as the coffee pot and the sink. First night there I cleaned the entire kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with bare essentials with no pantry items just some spices. A/c units would not work. I don’t know why? The main bed was foam mattress on a metal frame.. not for me and the other bed handmade with mattress on a sheet of plywood. No sofa to watch TV just an uncomfortable futon. So for us is was not cozy and comfy. In conclusion it would be perfect with some comfy furniture and beds. We decided to spend the second night at home!

Relaxing Get-a-Way

We live in NYC and wanted a quiet place to relax for a week. This cottage was perfect. Denis & Nancy are excellent hosts. They keep 2 cats, 2 donkeys, 2 geese and 5 chickens. (Yes - we did get some fresh from the nest eggs!) Our 2 cats loved running around the yard and napping on the deck. We spent a lot of time on the back deck. Ended up extending our stay one more night - we just weren't ready to leave! We would stay here again.

We had such a wonderful time staying at the cottage. Dean and Nancy were so welcoming. We enjoyed visiting with the mule, donkey, cats and geese. The little cottage was perfect for our getaway. loved the donkey's Duke and Jack the geese were hysterical. very comfortable beautiful kitchen. enjoyed waking up every morning and seeing the animals including wildlife like deer. All attractions were less than 15 min away.

Perfect!!

This was one of the best vacation rentals we have ever booked! The cottage was extremely clean and beautifully decorated and the location was perfect for us to get some peace and quiet after a long day of crowds. Our favorite place was the back deck where we got a kick out of watching the geese, donkeys and cats that we named Stanley (black one) and Noah (orange one). The owners Dean and Nancy were very nice and very responsive to questions and made it known that if we needed anything to just ask. I would recommend this little paradise to anyone who is looking for a place in this area! Thank you Dean and Nancy for the wonderful experience!
