Little Farmhouse Cottage - Country Near the Coast

This 1940's farm cottage sits surrounded by open space. The area is in the Saugatucket River valley, in a little known hamlet called Mooresfield. This home is a rustic mini-working farm. There are many gardens and outdoor spaces here to enjoy peacefully after a long day of adventure. With a central South County location, the cottage is close to beaches, restaurants, shopping, rail, URI, and all points north and south. Newport is a scenic 20 minutes away. The house sits back and up from the road, and there is plenty of off street parking. The country road is sometimes busy, but that also means that it is an easy commute to anywhere you might go. A car would be needed to get around due to the rural nature of the property, but most destinations are only a 5 to 20 minute car ride away. Uber is a popular alternative to having a vehicle. 6 minutes to Rt 1 N&S. 5 minutes to the business district of Wakefield. You can stock up and never go shopping, or "run into town" for a last minute item. Golf courses, Great Restaurants, URI Campus, NOAA and Grad School of Oceanography, Beaches, Museums, the Block Island Ferry, the City of Newport and Historical Landmarks are all within a 15 mile radius.

Wonderful!

This was our second stay at the cottage and it was just as fantastic as our first stay in June 2024. The atmosphere is very peaceful, calming, and invites restfulness. It’s very close to great beaches and restaurants as well as excellent vintage shops.

Serenity now!

We had the pleasure of meeting the owner the day before we left (five day stay). She was a delightful, caring person who truly believes in hospitality. We entered this extremely clean cottage to find not only staples, but some thoughtful treats in the refrigerator. The outside was a haven! Peace, calm, & serenity exuded from every corner of this property. I sat for hours enjoying the well attended country landscape and walked almost every part of this enchanting property. This property was wonderful, the Pease and Quiet, the open area and property were just relaxing. So much better than staying in a cold hotel room with no fresh air, scenic view of any open space or fresh air. Here we were able to cook outside, enjoy the quiet peaceful night breeze and just stare at the stars sitting on the outdoor patio. We were able to light a nice fire in the fire pit and enjoy the warm fire late into the night. The amenities in the house were great, everything one would need were there, just like being at home. That is what it felt like, being home with all the things we wish we had in our own place. All the amenities plus the special benefits of being away from home but feeling like we wish it was like a place we would want to actually live in. We will definitely stay here the next time we are back in this part of the country. The place was so hart warming with all the detail that was placed in making the home so warm and friendly, Thanks to the datils that our host, Victoria Silvestri made in welcoming us to this wonderful place. Victoria was very attenuative to all our needs and wants, any time, she made us feel Special and was a great home welcoming feeling when we first walked into the house. We can't say how wonderful it felt being there the only time we were a bit sad was when we had to pack up and look back and knew we were going to miss being in such a place and heading back to our fast paced life back into our living location.

A Cozy Little Farm Cottage

Victoria’s cottage is always our go to stay for our summer vacation visit to Rhode Island. The location is away from the crowds but easy access to all the tourist attractions. The cottage is very comfortable and the property has gorgeous gardens. We love the vases of flowers about the house, the treats in the refrigerator and especially enjoy the outdoor shower after a long day at the beach!

Victoria is one of the most pleasant and communicative owners I have ever worked with and I've been traveling for 15 years. She was responsive accommodating to some last minute request and couldn't be nicer. Her property is exactly as appetized in a beautiful farm, setting, quiet close to go. A fabulous experience and hostess. Victoria was accessible and very personable whether she was tending to the horse or just walking the property. The home was clean and comfortable for our 5-day trip. Location was quiet and set back away from traffic with maintained yard and outside sitting areas. We really needed a rest and this place was perfect! The proximity to beaches, walking/hiking, great food was an added bonus. We really appreciated the host’s attention to details, such as fresh floral arrangements in most rooms (not the kind to leave you sneezing at every turn), her notebook of helpful local attractions, best local dining, beaches, etc. Also, the place is a wonderful pesticide-free zone!

This Is A Gem of a Home!

This home and property is located in a private neighborhood nestled in between a Christmas tree farm, yet is so close to all of the beautiful Rhode Island beaches, Block Island Ferry and great restaurants. The property is clean and lovingly well cared for by the owner herself with all sorts of antiques and cool decorations. If you are looking for a sweet getaway where you will be refreshed and especially if you love nature, this home will not disappoint.

The Perfect Combo of Country and Coast

Victoria is a wonderful host who takes every detail into account. The little farmhouse has a comfy bed, great showers (indoor or out!), cozy linens, and all the amenities you could need. We enjoyed our time relaxing in the calm, welcoming environment of the cottage and grounds as much as we did exploring the stunning coastlines and Block Island nearby. Idyllic little getaway

Such a wonderful serene location! The property was beautiful with plentiful gardens and wildlife and the owner's gorgeous horse. The cottage itself was adorable with great outdoor spaces. Indoors was nicely decorated and well appointed. Super comfy bed and great shower for relaxing after a long day out & about at the Newport Folk Festival. Victoria was wonderful; friendly, helpful and very personable.
