THE BEACH GETAWAY DREAM

The name says it all. It is a 2bedroom 2 bath condo with a loft that also sleeps two people located directly across the street from the beach . The huge windows provide one of the best views on the island. This unit was recently renovated and offers upscale accommodations with a family price.. The unit is dog friendly, pet fee depends on the type of dog. Each of the bedrooms has a ceiling fan to keep the cool sea breeze moving. The loft has two single beds. The front porch has comfortable rockers, so you can sip wine and watch the sun go down. The living room has 16 foot ceilings, with large windows facing the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. The sparkling pool has a covered deck and Weber charcoal grills for grilling after a long day at the beach or sightseeing.
This location allows you close access to the bike trail that spans the entire length of the island. Within walking distance to this place is waterfront dining offering great outdoor seating and live music most evenings, as well as the St. George Island Lighthouse. Just over the St. George Island Bridge is the bridge to Apalachicola which is one of Florida’s most historic coastal towns offering fresh seafood right out of the bay, fantastic art galleries, antique shops and unique nightlife.
Some of the popular pursuits on the island are swimming, walking, running, and cycling. The St. George Island State Park is located at the east end of the island.
As a fisherman, I can personally vouch for the great fishing spots. Some of the fish just waiting to be caught are: redfish, flounder, trout, and whiting.
Enjoy the world renowned 'Apalachicola' Oysters at most of the local hot spots.
St. George Island has one of the world's most stunning beaches and it is just steps from this quaint condo! Bring your friends or family and create the vacation that you have been dreaming of. I assure you this rental will have you in the middle of paradise, at a practical price. I also own another condo in the same facility.The name is "Coastal Cottage", number 590005 on VRBO. We enjoyed the design and decor of this comfortable place. Our group of 5 adults fit well for a two night stay. The beach was easily accessed on foot, just a few steps to the boardwalk and a few more to the beach. Our favorite parts of the island were the lighthouse, the state park hiking trails, hunting for seashells...and coming back to the house to relax and cook a fine supper.

Overall we were satisfied with our visit. Beautiful view and beach for a cold weekend. Issues included no toilet paper, no hairdryer, lights in front bathroom did not work, pool was not heated , living area fan and light would not turn off and multiple lights out. Owner was responsive to my texts. We were only there 2 nights. It’s a great location. We enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed the location's proximity to ocean and peace and quiet of the neighborhood (hardly any street traffic). Very nice patio as well but during our stay we did not have to share it with other renters. The Host was reachable, very nice and tried to rectify problems. On the bad side, the place needed cleaning--the floors and pots and pans were dirty. A better collection of pots and pans and cooking utensils are needed. We also lacked Wi-Fi during the stay.

We had to cut our trip short due to a death in the family but we enjoyed our time and the stay was great. There was no hot water during our stay but we didn’t really get to stay long enough to address it.

Perfect location to have a short getaway or stay all week. We have friends that rent some of the other units in the same building and have a great time! Condo was very clean and prefect for us. Plan to return next year!

Our overnight stay was excellent at this condo. It is hard to find places that allow less than a week on the island so we were grateful! We travel from Michigan and like to stay a few extra nights beyond our weekly rental so this was perfect! I would highly recommend this place. Right across from the beach.

We had a really nice time. Nice setup! Our 5 year old was too scared to stay in the beds in the loft but had a great time going up and down the ladder during the day!

Needs to change the description. The stove is weird. No storage for food except for counters and fridge. Relatively clean but your sign says you are going to charge money if you find pet hair on furniture. Well, I found pet hair on the couch obviously from another tenant. I had to do extra cleaning so I would not be charged. Hair does fly through the air. Very small place. we were cramped with 6 people. Not a bad place just small.

The location was great! The decor was cute. My main complaint is that the description said 2 bathrooms, but it was only 1 1/2, and the one with a shower was a shared one between 2 bedrooms with a sliding door that was hard to lock and unlock, which was inconvenient since we were sharing with our married son and his wife. The other problem was that there was not any extra toilet paper; we had to buy some late the night before we checked out. We left it pretty well-stocked (same w/ laundry soap). It would have been nice to either have more towels, or more than one pod of laundry soap to have enough clean towels for our stay. I appreciated that there were plenty of dishes and pots and pans. The stove was confusing because the burner controls don't match the burners. Also, it would have been nice to have some basic seasonings, at least some salt and pepper on hand. There was a kitchen drawer that was broken and wouldn't shut. The kids enjoyed the pool in between playing at the beach. Beach towels would have been a thoughtful amenity for people like us who flew in and don't have room to pack them. The beds were ok; the pillows were very uncomfortable. The loft was perfect for the kids. Basically, it seems that the host isn't too concerned about maintainance and offering any niceties since it's such a handy location to the beach. Nevertheless, we had a great time!
