It’s a strange hotel, and very much a work in progress.
Good: rooms are comfy and quiet. Cost wasn’t bad. Decor is silly, even over the top, but fun.
Bad: spa is really not ready. There is no soap in the changing room. There are no robe hooks in the changing room. The overall vibe is this weird mix of “we’re not ready” combined with very high-end equipment.
Coffee is bad, pastries are bad. We had one meal that was astonishingly slow, and that even despite there being next to no customers and an armada of front-of-house staff.
They just put in their second tower, and I think one way of saying it is that they’ve added a lot of capacity, and a lot of staff, and they’re not yet there in terms of making it work. Hopefully it’ll age well!
