We stayed at this hotel for a week following the tornado that struck St. Louis on May 16, 2025. With most nearby hotels fully booked, this property—located just a block from my office - was one of the few options available. Prior to booking, we read that the hotel was undergoing renovations and even called to confirm the availability of updated rooms.
Upon arrival, however, there was little visible evidence of renovation. The lobby, which is typically the first area hotels update, was dated and featured worn furnishings. The overall decor throughout the property—including the guest rooms—felt like a throwback to the 1990s, while the ballroom area appeared even older, resembling a 1970s banquet hall.
While the indoor and outdoor pools were a nice amenity to have, both appeared neglected and in need of maintenance. The one bright spot in our room was the bathroom, which had been updated with a modern shower system controlled by a wall-mounted panel.
The hotel staff were friendly and courteous, which we appreciated during a stressful time. However, housekeeping was inconsistent; despite requesting room cleaning during our stay, it was never completed.
Overall, while the hotel is in a convenient location and seems to be making strides toward improvement, there is still a long way to go before it meets modern standards.
