This is an older hotel and was clean but in need of new carpet and some paint.

The room felt smaller than most single bed rooms do. When there is two guests like I had there was only three very flat pilllows so that means one of us got one pillow. There was a baggie of cookies probably from the last guest in the floor beside the fridge .and the carpet had some not a lot of crumbs in it. Cleaning staff needs to step it up.

The staff was great even under pressure. Even though this wasn't the best hotel that i have stayed at, the staff made it pleasurable. Believe it or not husband even met the owner which is unusual, he was pleasant and friendly.

Very old, not updated. Has a musty smell. Elevators were “iffy”. The pictures on web site is old and hotel is not what you see in the pictures. Bed was clean but very uncomfortable. Balcony door did not lock. Shower was weird and on a slant. Fall hazard. Air conditioning barely worked.

The sheets were stained. The area around smelled like a weed shop. You couldn't open the windows at night because of the smell. The view of the Arch was pretty, and the staff was very nice.

My room had a horrible smell to it. I dont think adjusting the aircon actually changed it. The refrigerator made a loud noise all night and was beat up. There were various stains on the carpets, walls and floor. Some were definitely from the body. The bathrub filled while I tried showering because the drainage was poor. The stairwell smelled so bad and also had various stains. We found hair in our bedsheets and left feeling itchy and grossed out. The area is definitely not the safest and no one was actually in the security car they had parked out front. The pool was closed, so if you were looking forward to a pool--don't. The staff was nice, but that's about it.

The person who checked us in was very nice and welcoming, which we appreciated. However, there were a few issues during our stay. The hallway outside our room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and the elevator didn’t stop on our floor unless it was already coming from another floor, which was inconvenient. The carpets were stained, and the overall noise level was high — we could hear people yelling outside and in the hallways at all hours. It’s not a total dump, but it reminded me of the kind of place I would’ve stayed in during college with friends while trying to save money for a concert trip. I probably wouldn’t stay here again, but it might suit travelers looking for a budget-friendly option who don’t mind a little chaos.

This is not an obvious property but it is a very viable alternative. It is quiet, safe, easy to park, close to Forest Park and many of the other main areas of interest in St. Louis. For the sake of transparency it is an older property and it shows in the furniture, decore and rugs. It could be a bit cheaper considering it is an old property but it does have a convenience factor. The immediate area around the property is not beautiful but it is a very practical place to stay.
