I've stayed at Barefoot many times now, though this was the first time staying after a hurricane. As of Jan 2025, the property was still waiting on permits to rebuild the pool walls so the pools were unavailable. The hurricane happened a few months prior, but the property overall was in good condition considering that. The additions of bathrooms on the ground floor near the pool and deck area is excellent. They just finished putting the restroom signs on the doors when I left. The office was temporarily relocated to the top floor of the newer, taller building. The staff was a little rougher this time. I had asked for more coffee and shower gel in the first morning, and I did not get the gel. My brother's room had some major oversights from the cleaning crew when he checked in. If I go back, I'll have to remember to make sure I have my own lotion and shower gel. It's great to see that they continue to make improvements to the property, and it's one of the best locations in all of the Clearwater/St. Pete area - right on the beach with an easy walk to John's Pass. You pay for it though. It's not inexpensive. Also, I'm not sure I would stay over New Year's again. Fireworks are a big thing at the beaches. It's not the resort's fault, but cops had to come and arrest some of the 40 to 80 teenagers that made their way down to the hotel while setting off M80s in the alley between buildings. It was not pleasant.
