A unique third floor 2 bedroom condo with a private sundeck to lay out, enjoy the day and relax watching the sunset. (3rd floor - no elevator)

***Please READ****: this condo is a bit dated. Window treatment & all furnishings are older, we like to ensure guests know this before booking. Please see the pictures. This unit has a rare, private roof top balcony - it is the best feature!! We have many units in the same building that are fresh and updated, but this is not one of them. The price reflects this. It's a good deal for an older unit. If you want modern & updated, we can give you other units in the building to check out for a little more money. If you are okay with 'retro beachy cottage style, no frills, staying at grandma's old beach condo that's a bit out dated' then this place will work fine. No frills people that like camping are a fan of this unit. It definitely does the job for a family beach vacation on a budget.

Retro beachy vibe condo with cable TV and Wi-fi included. Great views, location and large private sundeck. A queen bed in one bedroom, 2 twin beds in the second bedroom and a pull out sofa in the living room. Magnificent Gulf of Mexico views from the living room and private sundeck. All linens & towels are included. The kitchen has dishes, silverware and cooking utensils. The private deck has plenty of room to watch the activities at the pool and the beach.

Come enjoy your St Pete Beach get-away! Literally just cross the street and you are on majestic St Pete Beach enjoying the sand between your toes!

A poolside & beachside condo with gulf views - sunsets are included
The kitchen has pots, pans and all kitchens essentials to enjoy your vacation. This property offers a heated pool with plenty of seating for guests. You can chat it up with neighbors or relax and keep to yourself and read a book.

Beach is located across the few parking spaces from Condo and over the dunes (boardwalk): 125 feet +/- to the beach 300 +/- feet to the water.
Buildings 100-400 are around the pool, buildings 500-800 are around the shuffleboard Court. This is building 200.

Birthday Getaway

Property is exactly as described, "grandmas beach cottage". The unit definitely feels a bit dated but it wasnt a problem, TVs in each room, and the AC works well. The balcony (only one on the building) was a great place to relax and watch the sunsets.We'll be back to this one for aure!wil

Great location, gross aparrtment

The “warnings” given when renting the place state that it is dated and bare bones. While it is very dated it isn’t like a clean 1980s apartment. There are stains all over the place including gross stains in the carpets. Grime on the fridge door, trash under the bed: empty coke bottle and empty pill packets. The location is close to the beach and we spent most of our time outside at the great pool or at the beach or in my other family’s rented place in the same building which was much nicer. I would recommend the building in terms of pool and location but this place was not as nice as camping even. Appliances didn’t work and it just had an overall gross feeling.

Very old and worn out

I've stayed in the same building before so I expected some age, but this unit looks like it hadn't been upgraded in 40 years. All the furniture was old and worn, several lights didn't work, there were only one or two 3 wire outlets in the unit, and other 2 wire outlets had old-style wood covers that didn't allow plugging in a phone charger. The AC was set to 70 and couldn't be turned lower and the bedroom was always about 5 degrees warmer. It took almost 12 hours before the living room got to 70 (it was a hot day) and I ended up sleeping on the couch because it was too hot in the bedroom. The private balcony is built on the rooftop of the other building, the deck is rotting and the railings are flimsy. I go on these trips to relax and telework during the day and enjoy the evenings. This unit was so old and uncomfortable, I couldn't work. I left 3 days early. If you're looking for a crash pad for college kids, this might work... It reminds me of places I'd stay with fraternity brothers in the 80s.

VRBO Customer Service is great!

Do not rent this place. It is a 3rd floor walk up and there has not been any maintenance on the unit ever. There was a very strong mold smell and the place is filthy. VRBO was great at helping us communicate with the host and, we did not stay at this property after seeing the condition. Public beach access is right there and parking was great.

Don’t “grandmas place”

The couch was filthy and felt like years of sunscreen and who knows what else was sticky. Didn’t want my kids sitting directly on it. The carpet must have never been washed as it made our feet black. There was a lack of the normal (to us) cleaning tools. They expect your dishes washed before you leave but leave you no dish soap and a used sponge. There’s a broom but no dust pan? Mice traps under the sink. The rails on the deck were totally unsafe and there were multiple broken chairs on the patio which made us spend 0 time out there. On top of this, they prewarn you that there is no security- meaning pretty much anyone who wanted to was welcome into the “private pool”. Would never revisit and we felt lied to by the representation of the place online.

Daughters 21st birthday trip

The condo was just as shown online. It was quaint clean and in an excellent location. Roger was the rental manager I worked with and he was very accessible and easy to work with. I highly recommend this place. Again, the condo is as advertised. Very dated. But it’s clean and there is a lot of room inside which worked great for myself, my 21 yr old daughter and my best friend. Very pleased with our stay. The pool area is very nice also! (No bathroom at pool area And no elevators in the buildings here FYI) second time for me at this condo complex and yes I would stay again.

Great location, apartment needs updating.

The location was great, right by the beach with restaurants nearby. Communication with the host was good, and check-in was easy. The apartment itself is very dated, and while it had everything we needed there was one annoyance: most of the electrical plugs only have the two prongs with no ground socket. That meant that we had to hunt around the apartment to find the few outlets with a ground pin in order to plug in a number of our electronics, such as laptop chargers.

Best Part...walking distance to beach

This unit definitely needs upgrades, but that is how it's advertised. It's for sure over priced, but it depends on how much you value the location. I didn't expect to have to clean the unit to stay comfortably for the price we paid, and the deck with the view was not worth the $$ when the beach was only a 5 min walk. We barely used the deck. The pool is saltwater, that was awesome, but we talked to alot of people by the pool, and there are many other much nicer units in the building for same or less rent. Do your research.

I love the Friendly Native!

We have been to Friendly Native many times. We understand that each condo has different owners and updated based on owners. I was somewhat surprised by the dated decor and furniture but the condo was clean overall (some stains on carpet and furniture) but overall it "did the trick" for us and we had a nice stay. When talking to Property Manager, he did say there was a "disclaimer" when reserving (which I did not see) and that the price was reduced due to need for updating. I would rent again as long as it was priced accordingly.

Like a beach cottage-charming

My cousin and I stayed with our 16 and 17 yr old boys. It was awesome. So much in walking distance for all of us to enjoy-food, beach, pool, stores and even scooters to rent. Being on a budget we did bring a few travel size essentials in our checked bag to avoid the grocery store (and not knowing what was there) and we are glad we did! Dish soap, trash bags, TP, coffee, filters, Kleenex, wipes, baggies. There is a convenience store a little over a block away and grocery store 1.5 mile away. We did pack our own beach towel as they are not provided and may not have been available to rent from ACT when we were there. The bbq is charcoal not gas so you would need to buy lighter and charcoal. Everything was clean and as described - yes it needs updating as stated in the description but we loved it as is!
