Beautiful location, great access to the beach, plenty of activities for adults and kids, loads or bars, great drinks, Smores every night, great live local music, you could swim far into the Gulf without getting too deep into the water. We had a blast , would do it again.

I was surprised at the $25 per day parking fee on top of a $55 per day amenity fee. The hotel is looking tired and pools need repair. We have been coming here for 39 years.

Hotel property was very dated. Needs updating elevators not working, Ice machine broken entire stay causing puddles of water to walk through. Hotel staff did nothing about this so it was days of walking through gross water to get to our room. Also I was suppose to have a balcony not sure what this really was.

I’d like to preface this review by acknowledging that the St. Pete area is still recovering from a significant tropical storm in October. With that in mind, there were both highlights and drawbacks to our stay. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted with complimentary champagne and full bellhop service, a great first impression. Unfortunately, when we got to our room, we discovered a major leak and had to return to the lobby to be reassigned. Our new room, like the original, was courtyard-facing and acceptable, though nothing particularly special. The resort’s first floor is currently under renovation due to the storm damage, which meant early morning wake-ups from construction noise and visible work being done throughout the property. This construction often overlapped with resort activities, which made parts of the experience feel more chaotic and less relaxing. That said, the resort offers a wide range of amenities and activities that are well-organized and fun for all ages. One thing to note: the TradeWinds actually operates two adjoining properties, and many of the activities are spread across both. Be prepared to do a bit of walking between the two resorts. Highlights of our trip included the two-story waterslide, beachfront cabanas, ocean obstacle course, and a variety of paid beachside experiences like parasailing, banana boat rides, and jet ski rentals. These features made for several unforgettable beach days.

I loved this resort. Definitely plan on returning with my family again. The only negative thing was the coffee at the shop. The espresso was very watery and disappointing. Otherwise the report is amazing and we love all the activities and fun. The pool 12-4 games were very entertaining. We were sad the pool was closed our last day and had no activities.

The location is great. We understand that repairs were being made related to hurricane damage in 2024. We had reserved a ground level room but because of the damage we were moved to the 6th floor without being notified. But there were other issues. The biggest complaint we had was that our room didn’t have smoke detectors. It had the bases, but no smoke detectors. We notified the front desk, had to do that by walking there no one answered the phone when you call. Maintenance came and told us the detectors were removed because they were beeping, then gave us a lame story about it not being a safety issue because the building had general smoke alarms in the hall. He did say that the detectors would be installed, but that didn’t happen while we were there for 6 nights. This could be a great hotel but they need to focus on more than repairing the hurricane damaged level. Overall the staff was friendly. The location is incredible and the folks managing the beach chairs and umbrellas were great.

I have stayed at this hotel in the past. It was completely rundown. I know it was struck by two hurricanes last year, but it should not be open yet. It does not meet Tradewinds standards. It is a two star at best and its current condition. The main pool was closed at 3 PM on the Fourth of July and remain closed until the next day when I left. There are Porta potties on the main pool deck because the bathrooms were destroyed a year ago and the hurricane. The main fountains in the courtyard were broken. The river for the paddle boat was black and had lots of debris in it. It looked disgusting. The restaurant on the pool deck was completely closed and appears that it has not open since the hurricane. The walls and door jams were filthy dirty and appeared like they had not been painted in years. Our room was on the sixth floor and still had ants and there was dirt and debris in the sliding door groves, causing the door not to slide properly. It appeared that no one had vacuumed underneath the beds and the dressers in several months. The main seven story hotel building was completely fenced off and closed. Several customers were complaining about the conditions of the hotel and surrounding courtyards. The staff was doing their best, and it was not their fault that the hotel was in the condition that it’s in. I understand the hotel was involved in two major hurricanes last year. I believe they should not have rushed to open it. It is priced to high for being run down.

This was the worst Fourth of July in my life I’ll never return to this resort the restaurants and food were good the paddle boat water looked like a sewer drain they canceled the fire works on the fourth even after it stopped raining for hours and I didn’t get any emails or updates about anything the gym was located at Rum Fish not on the property we were on and it was old and outdated and dusty hopefully they use some of that money they charged everybody to upgrade and clean up the property the elevators were slow and the door kept getting stuck they charged me extra for a tropical view which was the top of a palm tree and a roof I’ve never been so disappointed and upset to the point I was crying

Hotel was under major renovation and they did not disclose this information on the website. The hotel expected us to use a port a potty as a bathroom accommodate, the main pool was also closed most of our stay (not due to weather), also when we booked they said parking was included in the amenity fee and then said it wasn’t later. The paddle boats were also not working and my kids were pretty disappointed. Rooms are very dated along with the entire hotel. For $600 a night I don’t expect to being using a gross port a potty. Hotel is not worth the $$$ and is a total scam online. It looks great online but is not the case when you arrive. I emailed hotel staff and never received a call back or email.

Worst hotel ever. The whole first floor was under construction so was super noisy all the time. The pool was supposed to close at 11 but of course that didn’t happen either. AC was leaking the whole time. It was disgusting. Don’t stay here.

We enjoyed pretty much everything about our stay except the elevators:( they were super slow and had no air-conditioning or ventilation. Not sure if it had anything to do with the last hurricane that hit or not. Otherwise, we would definitely stay there again. :) :)

Room was gross with evidence that housekeeping was suboptimal - band-aid on floor, previous guest clothing, fingerprints on mirrors, stains around the room, furniture worn down. Property smelled bad (like mildew) and was run down; I understand some of the way the resort looked may be from the 2024 hurricanes…but overall the resort was just clearly not well maintained. Pools are small and don’t have actual restrooms nearby, only porta-potties (which were also not well maintained). The lagoon looked like it had stuff growing in it that wasn’t supposed to be there. Saw staff eating food while preparing it. Elevator is painfully slow. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. We were supposed to stay for 4 nights…we didn’t even end up staying 1 - went to a different resort for our stay. Go a bit further up the coast to Sand Key or Clearwater - more shopping and dining options and properties better maintained.
