Built in 1906, the Directorate was up to the closure of the Zollverein colliery in 1986 head office and seat of administration. Since 2013, the building is seat of the Zollverein Foundation.

“The location is perfect!! 5mins walk to BHF, a supermarket downstairs and plenty of restaurants and cafes within a 2mins walk. The staff are all friendly. The modern interior design is stunning! It was a pleasant experience staying in a clean and quiet room for 5 nights.”

“I had an apartment with a kitchenette for 1 week at the Esplanade. Since I didn't have a car, it was convenient--only about 3 blocks from the Hauptbahnhof and a couple of blocks from the central pedestrian zone. The property itself was attractive with a pleasant breakfast area and a nice enclosed central courtyard. The staff was also quite friendly and attentive. The sauna was a very nice, unexpected benefit at the end of tiring days. An excellent option in central Dortmund!”

“Der Service war wirklich klasse, und die freundliche Dame beim Frühstück hat meinen Aufenthalt besonders angenehm gemacht! Beim nächsten Mal würde ich mich für ein Comfort Plus Zimmer entscheiden, da das zur Parkseite gelegen ist und es dort ruhiger ist.
