“Sehr tolles kleines Haus. Würde es jeder Zeit wieder buchen. Hatten zwar kleine Mängel, habe diese aber dem Besitzer direkt mitgeteilt. Es zu finden, war nicht so einfach, man muss schon etwas weiter fahren als das Restaurant und dann kommen links lauter Schilder und da fährt man dann nach oben. Tolle Aussicht mit einer beruhigenden Stille. Kauft davor gut ein, da vor Ort keine Geschäfte sind. Kaffeeaufbereiter, Waschmaschine, Kühlschrank mit Eisfach , Toaster und co. alles was man benötigt ……

“The house is very quaint. You are surrounded by sheep, rabbits and sweeping views. Though the house looks old it is up to date inside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back to enjoy the peace. If you’re lucky, Alan the crofter will come by and talk with you about his life farming sheep and raising Birder Collies.”

“Wonderful house completed to a very high standard. Both bedrooms and bathrooms are perfect and neither is better than the other which is fabulous for 2 couples as nobody has to compromise. Would highly tecommend”

“Wonderful cozy little cabin right on the water. Great location with a short drive into Dunvegan. The cabin was well equipped with everything you need to make simple meals. All appliances were new and worked perfectly. Shower was comfortable and easy to use and John also provided a washer/dryer combo which was especially nice after struggling to get clothes dry in previous accommodations. The cabins were a perfect peaceful place after being in cities!”

“This is the perfect cottage to explore Skye. Ideal for a family of four. We slept well, the shower is good and every thought has gone into this self catering accommodation (not one but two hairdryers, sharp kitchen knives, dishwasher tablets, treats!). We arrived with everything we needed food and drink wise (I recommend you do as well as it's a drive to the shops) but also ate locally at the inn which was fine and lively. There's an excellent playpark across the road and a pottery. ”

“We had a wonderful week at the Backrest in early May. The property has all the creature comforts you might need on your stay. The property is very cosy and warm and in a quiet location over looking the loch. ”

“While a bit off the beaten path and rustic, our stay here was amazing! Eoin, the owner showed us around, told us some local history and even let us feed his sheep and see the newborn lambs. He also let us watch his dog Midge work the sheep. He is a wonderful host! Highly recommended!”

“The hillside location gives amazing view across Lochbay.Waternish is a convenient location to get all across the island.The cottage has tonnes of character and is very homely. There was lots of space for the 3 of us.We appreciated the washer and dryer!There is heating in every room and a log fire which we enjoyed in the evenings.The house was immaculately clean and comfortable. There is a large selection of games for children of all ages.We had excellent communication with the owner throughout.”
