Nellie’s Cottage - delightful boutique mountains cottage

Nellie’s Cottage is ready to welcome you in cooler mountains months - the wood is chopped and stored for the wood burner, and blankets are back on the beds to keep you warm.

Nellie’s Cottage is nestled in its own little garden featuring both traditional cottage garden flowers and Australian natives with abundant birdlife. Inside this beautiful birds and banksia themed cottage you will find everything to make your stay memorable and comfortable in any season. This lovingly restored cottage is perfect for:
- couples of all ages
- friends and siblings travelling together*
- dedicated carers needing a well earned rest and relaxation break
- girls weekends away*
- mother and daughter escapes
- those coming up to work in the mountains during the week

The entire cottage is yours to enjoy whether it is one, two, three or four of you and there is no added extra cleaning fee.

We are very Coeliac-friendly and will provide a dedicated toaster, board and appropriate breakfast items - if you let us know.

The Space
There is a cute corner wood burner for those cold winter nights, along with reverse cycle aircon and heaters in both bedrooms.

A fully equipped kitchen and a BBQ are there if you would like to eat in, or you will only be minutes away from the best eats that Katoomba has to offer. There are plenty of recommendations in the information compendium. A gourmet continental breakfast basket awaits as well as a plentiful selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate options. French doors open on to a west facing sunny deck with escarpment views to enjoy with morning coffee fresh from the coffee machine, or with an afternoon/evening glass of wine.

Bedrooms
The banksia bedroom has a king sized bed and the lyrebird room has two king single beds, all with gorgeous high quality linens. In the cooler months you will find quality electric blankets on all three beds. Both bedrooms include two luggage racks each.

*The banksia bedroom can be configured to take 2 beds - the original king plus an added king single so we can now offer 4 separate comfy beds for a maximum of 4 guests. Please let us know if you would like this option this at the time of booking with a message - we do require a minimum of one week’s notice so we can rearrange the room and add the extra king single bed for you.

Bathroom
A spacious bathroom contains an easy access shower as well as a separate bath to relax in after bushwalking and exploring.

The entertainment corner features a TV and DVD player along with a plentiful supply of books, games, DVDs. There is local area information and Blue Mountains recommendations. The corner also has a device charging station for your use.

You will only be 10 minutes walk away from Cahill’s Lookout with its breathtaking views in to the Megalong Valley. A 5 minute drive will either take you into the main street of Katoomba via the Gully and the Aquatic Centre or around Cliff Drive to Scenic World or up to the train station.

Nellie’s Cottage is situated in a very quiet location and is the perfect destination for relaxing and becoming reacquainted with the beautiful Blue Mountains.

Cosy Cottage

What a beautiful cottage! So tastefully decorated. Very comfortable beds. It was lovely to enjoy the fireplace. Lovely breakfast provided as well. Jessica was so accommodating with providing coeliac friendly food, toaster and board. Peaceful location not far from Cahill's Lookout.

The absolute BEST

Three adult travelers in our group and all agree this is the best VRBO we have ever stayed in during our travels in the US, Europe, and Iceland. Jessica and Sergei have made a very comfortable cottage in an outstanding location. It is impeccably clean and quiet. They provided a very generous and creative selection of breakfast offerings, and snacks, including for a celiac in the group. They also gave us excellent suggestions for hiking tracks and places to eat. We could not have wished for a better place or more accommodating hosts. You cannot go wrong on this property.

Long Weekend Getaway

I visited Katoomba with a group of friends for a relaxing weekend getaway surrounded by nature. Nellie’s Cottage was absolutely spectacular, offering a beautifully designed and comfortable interior, breathtaking views, and a convenient location close to the main center with plenty of activities to enjoy. Nellies Cottage is without a doubt the best B&B we have stayed at in Australia. The quality of the decor, furnishings, and ambience is 5-star. The little touches, lovely treats, and fantastic continental breakfast were gorgeous. Jessica communicated with us regularly, and this property should be the first choice for anyone visiting the Blue Mountains. We will book again for three or four nights next year! It is very highly recommended.

Cottage with many extras

Nellie’s cottage went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. From the fluffy robes and slippers to the wine chilling in the fridge to the fruit and croissants for breakfast, we felt very pampered and well looked after. When the weather turned cold and wet it didn’t bother us as we spent more time in the cottage playing games and watching dvds. They thought of everything. The location was perfect - a short drive to the shops at Katoomba and the visitors attractions - three sisters and scenic railway. A bonus discovery was the trails at the end of the street that led to the perfect lookout to watch the sunset. We would highly recommend Nellie’s Cottage and will definitely be a repeat visitor.

Gorgeous Cottage.

Loved the cottage, will probably come again.(probably in cooler months ). Only thing it didn’t have was wardrobes, but for 2 nights not an issue at all. Hired many homes over 20 years and this was the best when it came to everything you need plus little extras we didn’t expect. Have recommend to other people who will hopefully get to enjoy it too.

A lovely weekend at Nellie’s Cottage

I had the pleasure of staying at Nellie’s Cottage during my visit to the Blue Mountains, and it was truly a fantastic experience. The cottage was perfectly situated—central to everything we wanted to explore—yet peaceful and private. It was incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The extras, like a well-stocked kitchen, really made the stay special. Jessica, the host, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. She made sure we had everything we needed and was even in no rush for us to check out, which was much appreciated. The first word that comes to mind is “WOW” what a wonderful warm comfy cosy cottage this is, it feels like a home away from home. A fantastic renovation has been done with high quality fittings and furnishings throughout. There is everything you could want here, from the breakfast’s options to the bottle of wine and chocolates and so many other little treats left around the place. Nellies Cottage is close to everything, easy to get to and very central to get around to all that Katoomba and the Blue Mountains has to offer. Jessica has thought of everything in this place and I would have no problems recommending Nellies Cottage to everyone.

Wonderful stay

We recently spend two nights at Nellie's Cottage which was warm and cozy even though it was chilly outside. We awoke on Sunday morning to snow flakes falling which was special. The house is nicely decorated and has all you need for a wonderful weekend away in the Blue mountains.

Luxurious comfort in a peaceful area

From the moment I drove into the little driveway I knew I had booked the right place. Walking inside it was like I’d just been to the shops and come home. The decor and furniture was beautiful and practical. Everywhere I looked there were special comforts like cookies and some chocolates, phone charger, novels and games and dvds. Also reference books on the blue mountains area. I thought the bath salts were a nice touch not realising I would need a good soak after the many steps in Jenolan Caves. The full size kitchen was fully stocked with all I needed for cooking along with a dishwasher and washer dryer. The breakfast food was perfect. I cooked all my meals in the kitchen over the 5 days. Katoomba is an easy place to get around with shops and supermarkets an easy drive. Sitting and relaxing on the back porch in the morning sun was a favourite time. The little garden made the space feel private and relaxing. The area is quiet with lots of bird song. I highly recommend staying here and I am hoping to go back again.

Fabulous!!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Nellies Cottage, everything stated was per the listing but better. The attention to detail was so well considered & every aspect has been really well thought out. The bed was super comfortable, the linen was beautiful & waking up hearing all the birds was bliss. The breakfast options supplied were fantastic, along with the other additional snacks such as fruit, biscuits & wine was fantastic. A short walk to Cahill's Lookout to watch the sunset is a must! Our stay at Nellies is just what we needed, loved it and we will definitely be returning. Thankyou Jessica for being the perfect host!
