“This property was very unique and a great place to stay, especially after visiting the Hobbiton Movie Set earlier in the day. The rooms did smell a little like “Middle Earth” when we arrived, but the fans were running and the owners were obviously trying to deal with the problem which was much appreciated. Opening the windows and leaving them open helped as well. It was spacious and well able to accomodate 5 adults. The water was lovely to shower in and great for drinking. The location was just……

“We had a great time here with our young family and dog. The bach is a classic kiwi holiday home, renovated to keep it comfortable. Nicely decorated and maintained. Has all the amenities you need.Lots of great things to do in the area, including the hot water beach, fishing, Marakopa Falls and the natural bridge. Will recommend. ”

“Patsy is an excellent host. She is lovely and very welcoming, giving us lots of details about Kawhia. Her property is spacious and well-kept, with beautiful views and garden. The location was perfect for us, being near shops and our friends at the campsite.”

“Beautiful location, grounds and cabin. So close to glow worm caves and have their own little glow worm grotto on the property. Only a 60 second walk from the cabins. Also close to a waterfall and black sand beach. Angus was such a gracious host who made sure we had everything we needed including toast jams and coffee. Beds had heated blankets if needed and hot water bottles. Shower was awesome, hot with good water pressure. The grounds were amazing!!! Angus, his parents Allister & Anne were……

“The cottage was perfect for our overnight needs. The kitchen was modern, clean and well-stocked. The bedrooms were comfortable and we loved eating a home-cooked meal on the deck. The night bugs were out when the sun went down so we didn’t spend time on the porch after dinner. The water views were lovely - we just wish we had more time to swim! The owner was in contact quickly with lots of useful information. The property is in a neighborhood that is fairly remote. We stopped in Kawhia……
