We booked this hotel at the last minute, so this room was the only choice. The room is on the 16th floor, it is more like an upscale highrise apartment without a kitchen. A foyer automatically lights up when you open the door, and a snack room looks like a small dining room with a nice minibar, one door leading to a separate TV/family room, and another to the bedroom. From the bedroom, there is a porch and a spacious bathroom with a shower and a bathtub with a great city view of the surroundings. Great extra amenities: unlimited free sparkingly water, Dyson hair dryer, etc. Breakfast was great, lots of choices. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and ready for us to check in. Everything was nice.
A couple of cons: 1. The whole hotel (everywhere) was too dark ( I was told it was to mimic an old castle), 2. The hotel is somewhat inaccessible with luggage when checking. The hotel is a few steps higher than the street. 3. The hotel is walkable to Taipei Central Station but the stairs to the crossing bridge were a killer. 4. There were too many light switches (yet not light up the room bright enough), it was hard to find all the switches to turn off all the lights at the night. The night switch did not control all the lights.
