After a warm and efficient welcome at the front desk, the experience quickly went downhill. Had I not prepaid, and chosen it based on reasonably decent reviews on Expedia, I'd have walked away.
We were placed in the second building across the street from the office, and it was shockingly rundown and dirty. The steps leading to the second floor were rusty and appeared unsafe. The carpet was filthy and palpably sticky, the room smelled like wet dog, the smoke detector was dangling from the cracking ceiling, and the microwave exterior was badly damaged and therefore possibly unsafe for use. The bed was borderline OK, but the pillows were very large and bumpy--and unusable. Fortunately, I travel with my own pillows. That salvaged the night.
On the plus side, the counters were clean and the bathroom was OK.
I book in all kinds of rooms--from 4-star to 2-star, as a matter of course--and this was the worst one I'd ever been in.
Expedia, which I generally trust, should reconsider listing this property and send someone out to review it.
