On Friday, 2- 21 I stayed with my family in room 331 at Extended Stay America Select Suites in Tampa. FL. I booked the stay in good faith, being misled by the pictures and descriptions of the "hotel" by Expedia.com. I am writing to formally express my disappointment with my experience and a formal complaint. Initially I was offered room 105 but the conditions I experienced there made me go back to the reception desk and request the room change hoping the new room would finally be as I expected a comfortable and enjoyable stay, but unfortunately, several issues negatively impacted my visit. The room had a musty and cigarette-like odor. The room had long lasting stains on the couch, the chair and the carpet. The carpet in fact was disgusting, covered with stains and stinked. The shower/bath spout was broken causing the water to leak the entire time. Since I was traveling with my daughter and my son we needed 2 beds or a bed and a couch. Unfortunately, the couch was not suitable to be used because of its sanitary condition, so my daughter had to stay all night in the armchair. By 5 am she became extremely itchy and developed a rash on the skin. It might have been caused by bugs in the upholstery. On the other hand, I found some hair on the bed linens. Eventually, all 3 of us needed to sleep on bed covers cramped together. None of the furniture was suitable to be used, as everything in the room was sticky and dirty. I expected a higher standard of service based on the price.
