What a gem of a hotel! The staff was so welcoming. We had a wonderful breakfast, better than the three other hotels we’ve stayed at on this holiday. The room was clean and the bathroom may have been on the smaller side but it was sparklingly clean and the shower was very roomy. We will plan to stay again next time in Tauranga.

This place is probably more a Motel rather than Hotel however dont let that deter you away from it. This was one of the better experiences I have stayed in when it comes to room comfort and staff accommodation. Check in was easy, everything was explained, the room was clean, bed soft, the lights were awesome and had really thought out features, aircon, tea, coffee, mini fridge. It was spacious and super well taken care of. The only issue I had was the continental breakfast, I just wish there were more options to choose from, but it was free with VIP so not much to complain about. Oh and soundproofing, I could hear my neighbours both sideways and above me, but at 9pm onwards, quiet. Would stay again :)

We stayed in 5 different hotels during our entire trip and this 1 was the best for value, comfort, cleanliness and more. It is quiet and safe. You can tell that a lot of thought went into customer convenience and comfort when designing the room. Even though the room is small, it was fine for our needs. The breakfast thaat was included in our booking was minimal, but sufficient (toast, yogurt, fruit cup, juice). Friendly and helpful front desk service. Easy to get to restaurants nearby. Safe and easy parking.

Aroha checked us in with a warm welcome and she was absolutely fantastic!! We aren’t used to the 10 early checkout throughout NZ and she was the first place to offer us 11. (We didn’t even ask elsewhere as most indicated it wasn’t an option.) This was our favorite room so far in our trip. It was new, techy, clean and modern. Easy parking in front, a delicious breakfast delivered to our room and we strolled to the waterfront with access to awesome bars and restaurants all around. Thank you so much, CitySide! Future guests will also surely appreciate your top notch hotel.

Superior accommodation close to the waterfront. Easy access to the best parts of Tauranga. Modern and well presented, this accommodation was easily the best of all those we stayed at in our week long North Island trip. Friendly and helpful host. On the plus side, the accommodation was close to the main shopping area in town, very clean and tidy, and the manager was a pleasant chap. However, the room was very small - little space to move around and terrible lighting, especially if you are older - it was quite dim. There was nowhere to put an open suitcase other than on the bed. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were over-stuffed and unpleasant to sleep on. The staircase to the first-floor rooms was very narrow and steep. There was no dining facility, and while there were a few restaurants within a few minutes walk, we found none that provided breakfast. We have stayed in better hotels in other cities for a lot cheaper fee.
