Authentic Tavira is a quirky hotel with charm. My travel companions and I were able to walk throughout Tavira to experience various points of interest. The room was modest and clean, thanks to the cleaning staff.
Now for the disadvantages. Upon arrival, the day- time front desk staff (older woman) was impatient and annoyed in regards to questions/confusions with the check-in process. Instead of being understanding and taking the time to clarify, she got irritated and inhospitable.
In order to use the Wifi, you have to keep the television on. It disconencts and glitches once in a while so it's good to have a data plan. The lighting in the room is poorly allocated, especially the bathroom. During the day, the front desk staff is difficult to reach and are not available to guests. There is a pay coffee machine that the guests are not permitted to use on their own. Furthermore, there was no milk/lightener in machine.
There is a lack of sound privacy. So if intimacy is your goal, proceed with caution.
Be aware, that if you book a cab from the airport through the hotel, you have to pay the taxi directly. One of several confusions not explicitly communicated by the staff. I give the hotel a generous 3 stars but the overall vibe needs work.
