“Small, quiet and cosy well-equipped cottage, immediately on the sea front with private deck area and pebbled beach, with main beach roped off and sloping down to sea. View of sea from inside cottage is more limited, but side windows do give a reasonable view. I was there on my own and although the cottage is equipped for 2, it would probably feel cramped for more than a couple of days if more than 1 person was staying there. There are pleasant places for coffee and to eat within walking……

“Had a wonderful four days in this lovely old home. It felt like we went back in time. We enjoyed watching the sailboats go thru the locks in the canal. We only wish that we could read about the history of the house. We explored the area taking day trips… to Oban, Campbeltown, Southend, Tarbert etc.We give a thumbs up for having a full size washer and dryer. All the other places we stayed at had small washer/dryer combos or just a small washer and no dryer… that makes it hard when traveling for……

“We have just returned from a wonderful holiday! The property is great, and the view over the loch is magical. We saw seals and dolphins from the window. There are so many comfortable places to sit and watch the wildlife. The beds were very comfortable, and the property had everything we needed. Rhona the owner was very helpful, and the neighbours were so friendly. The area is beautiful - we enjoyed walking along the canal and around the forests and visiting places along the way. ”

“My daughter and I absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Lochead Chalet. It's in a wonderful spot right on the loch side, and oh my it is so very peaceful! The chalet itself was a perfect size for we two adults and our little dogs and we found it very clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. Karlina in the Ellary estate office was lovely too. A beautiful location for a holiday and a charming place to stay - highly recommended. ”
