Lovely Old Home In Need Of Tender Loving Care
We had a great visit but we wouldn’t rent this property again. Here’s why: There were 6 of us all over 70 years old. The photos don’t show how very dark it is inside. The upstairs bedrooms are extremely small and mirrors in one bedroom/bath are unusable due to their placement. The bedsheets are too small to stay in place. The showers are spacious but the gaskets are coming loose and one shower door rubs on the tile and needs adjusting. Closets upstairs are too dark. If there is a fire, there is no escape from the upstairs bedrooms. Kitchen hot water takes a long time to warm enough to dissolve grease. Outdoor furniture was too dirty and dusty to use and the sun did not hit the outdoor sitting areas for long during our stay in mid January. The hot tub had not been maintained. There were sticks in the hot tub and grit in the bottom. We didn’t use it. One morning the grounds maintenance did show up with their blowers at 7:30 am to wake us all from bed. The kitchen faucets need tightening. The breakfast nook window does not close. The locks on some of the doors do not work. The master bathroom has a walk through shower and so the second downstairs bedroom could not share that bathroom for lack of privacy. So, there are our “squawks.” We found the home fairly clean. All that said Sunny Days Vacation Rentals were great; allowing us into the property ahead of time and extending our stay by a few hours. They were friendly and quick to respond.
