The facilities are great with the hippo hide where you can watch hippos safely as well as an extremely nice golf course on the property with impala walking on the course. “This is a nice property near Phabeni gate of Kruger National Park, which is just a 6 minute drive. Akani is a great host and if you need anything he will bend over backwards to help! You can park right next to your chalet, which is very helpful. - I personally hate lodges where you have to park a distance away! - There is a pub nearby that gets noisy at times, but if you run a fan it drowns out the noise. “I have not left a review for anything in a long time, but AM Lodge absolutley deserves a great review. I read a couple of previous reviews that made me hesitant, but the record needs to be set straight. I stayed Mar 14 - March 16 of 2025 and it could not have been a better experience. “We had a great stay. The property looks over the Sabie River and has a family of resident hippos to entertain you. The staff were friendly and Lucas in particular went above and beyond when my hire car had a puncture in a tyre and he went with me, after his shift finished,to the tyre repair place and helped me to get it fixed. I thoroughly recommend the lodge for providing the ambience and great setting of the really expensive luxury lodges but at a fraction of the price.”
