“My family and I went up mid week and stayed through the weekend during a storm early March. The owner is incredibly responsive and has very good knowledge of the area including local road crews, law enforcement, etc. Whoch made me much more comfortable driving up in the winter storm. Check in process was by far the easiest and most simple ever- great job on that! Home is spacious offering lots of room for active toddlers and offering lots of comforts for inactive teenagers. “we booked this room as we needed an overnight stay during a road trip. the room was nice and the location worked out great for the trip. the toilet bowl a noticeable smell. and there was no hot water. since we arrived pretty late we were hoping we can shower in the morning and leave but the water was freezing. we could barely wash our faces. there were no instructions as to how to turn the water heater on (assuming there was one) and we were in a rush so we couldn't wait for an answer.”

“My wife and I with our two kids needed a quick getaway and this was just perfect. It's a newer, well-appointed cottage, next to a larger main house. The creek is 20 yards off the back door. It's really a great place to stay while exploring Alpine County.”

“Our group of men, (70+) has a tradition of an annual gathering for 41 years. Until Covid hit we camped in the Markleeville area. We are now comfortable with a house rental. This is our second year staying at 255 Sunrise Trail and the home suits our group perfectly. We feel comfortable and at home in this house.”

“When my wife and I stayed it appears that they were in the process of updating and renovating this entire motel. The interior of our room had already been updated with fresh paint, new fixtures, floors, bed, bed stands, flat screen tv and a remodeled bathroom. Now It didn't mention it in the listing but I believe that the bathroom floors were heated which was a pleasant surprise. The area is very lovely if you enjoy natural picturesque views, fishing and scenic drives as we do and we are……

We’d definitely give them a second chance next time we travel that way.”
