I booked into Skye Hotel & Residences for my last night in Canada. Had to pay a $200 deposit of which I’m still waiting for my deposit to be returned. When I washed why the deposit was so high - I was informed that’s just how it is. There is no bar, restaurant or room service so not sure how for one night they charge a deposit like that. Radisson & Crowe Plaza charge $100 deposit. The WiFi didn’t work. In all my years traveling normally there is complimentary water, tea & coffee. There was no water in the room. When I asked at reception they initially said I need to buy my own water but they will give me 2 bottles complimentary.

Unfortunately, our hotel stay was extremely disappointing. The facility resembled a motel or homeless shelter rather than a hotel. The dirty floors and moldy bathrooms with hair from previous guests were appalling. We had to call housekeeping daily, but their efforts were lacking. The staff's unprofessionalism and unhelpfulness added to our frustration. Additionally, the parking situation was chaotic, with no on-site parking available, forcing us to park in a distant, poorly lit area unsuitable for families with children. To make matters worse, this experience was not what we expected from a hotel. Please stay away from this place!

The staff were not friendly. The room had a kitchenette with no utensils (plates and cutlery). When I requested those from the staff, they took almost an hour to get one. Also, the room furnishings are not the best.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Avoid This Hotel! My experience at this hotel in Canada was absolutely unacceptable from start to finish. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were rude and dismissive, setting the tone for the entire stay. When I got to my room, I was disgusted to find hair on one bed and visible stains on the other. Things only got worse the next day when I discovered a roach on the bed. I immediately reported it to the front desk, but instead of genuine concern or proper management follow-up, they simply moved me to another room—no apology, no compensation, nothing. I later reached out to Expedia to request a refund due to the horrible conditions, but they denied my claim because the property refused to take responsibility. It’s extremely disappointing that both the hotel and Expedia failed to do the right thing for a paying customer. I would never recommend this property to anyone. The lack of cleanliness, poor customer service, and zero accountability made this one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. If you care about your comfort, safety, and hygiene stay somewhere else. I said wait.

Start and room were great but they do not provide any dish soap or laundry soap to use in the kitchen or washer. You have to purchase from their very expensive store in the lobby. I can understand it is extra but they should at least tell folks so they know to bring it if they don’t want to purchase
