Beachfront cottage on Stoco Lake Tweed

Private cottage on a beach with dock. Faces south with both sunrise and sunset views. Halfway between Ottawa and Toronto, steps from TransCanada trail. Five minutes to Tweed, with it’s grocery store, LCBO, and Beer Store. Tweed also has a splash pad and pool. A short bike ride away is Potter Settlement winery, for award winning wines. Less than an hour to Picton or Bon Echo provincial park. There is a bedroom with a queen bed with a view of the lake. There is a pull out couch queen bed, also with a view of the lake. An indoor bathroom with a toilet and sink, and an outdoor shower just a few steps from your door. Enjoy your shower while looking at the lake and listening to the loons in our private setting. On the east side of the cottage a sliding door leads out to a 16 foot by 12 foot patio with a chiminea and full size bbq.
Inside we have a kitchen with a full size propane stove, full size fridge, and a microwave. Also a coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster, and a full set of dishes. There is AC for the hot summer days and a wood stove for the the cool nights in spring and fall. Our property has over two hundred feet of waterfront with half of it a sandy beach. We have a sixty foot dock for those who want to bring their own boats and we have two kayaks, a paddle boat and a rowboat for those who want to explore the lake or fish.
Our cottage has a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and two fire extinguishers for your safety. We have two adult life jackets, two youth life jackets and safety kits for those who want to use our boats.

Amazing Tranquility
From our arrival and seeing Bill unloading wood for our stay and showing us around the property, and the things we will need to know to the beautiful rustic interior of the cottage and the view of the lake, with all the wild life, this was absolutely a amazing 9 days for us and our dogs. There was everything you would need in the cottage and the covered patio was a bonus especially when we had a couple days of rain, we could still sit outside. The view of the lake from the cottage is breathe taking with all the windows and the outdoor shower is unique and i even took a picture while showering of the lakeview lol. We saw lots of geese, ducks, a deer, even a bald Eagle with lots of dragonflies and hummingbirds around. The sandy beach was nice for our three dogs two who are 12 and need a gentle entry, it was shallow enough they could go in and get out deeper with ease. They loved playing fetch for hours in the water. There was many water toys for us and when our daughter and her boyfriend did a surprise visit for a day they got to use the kayaks and peddle boat . I hope we will be able to return again next Sept and continue for many years to come as our end of summer cottage vacation

Awesome place to unplug and unwind for a week for us and our kids. Hosts are awesome and friendly, cottage was spotless and stocked with games and comfortable spots for us to just sit and read a book. Used the provided boats on most days to enjoy the water as well. We will be returning at some point in the future!

Perfect, quiet getaway
Our family of 4, plus our dog, enjoyed our stay, spending lots of time kayaking, playing in the water, and biking the nearby trail. The cottage is really nicely located for a quiet stay. While we were a tight squeeze in the cottage, it is so well organized that we didn’t mind it. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and dishes. We had a great time!

A wonderful, rustic stay.
We had a wonderful weekend and Bill & Christine's - it was exactly what we're were looking for. The cottage/bunkie has a great view and we were treated to some gorgeous night skies, complete with loons and other wildlife on the lake. Everything was clean and in good repair. Plenty of things to keep our toddler entertained (yard games, kayaks/boats) and an amazing patio to relax next to a fire in the evening - the provided mosquito net certainly helped add to the evening enjoyment. The property is certainly a bit "rustic" in the sense that the running water comes from the lake (not potable, but clean drinking water provided by the host), there's no TV/wifi, the shower is outdoors - but that was all clear going in and exactly what we expected and we're looking for from a cottage weekend. Bill was friendly and attentive and I have no doubt that, had we run into any issues, he would have been quick to remedy them. As it was, we ran into zero issues. We definitely plan to return!

Weekend away
Perfect spot for a weekend getaway. Bill and Christine were amazing hosts and answered every question we had, and greeted us upon arrival to explain the ins and outs of the cottage. The cottage itself was perfect as well and had everything we needed and more. Our dog loved to run around the property chasing chipmunks and running into the water. Overall, a very peaceful and relaxing weekend. We will definitely be back, and thank you again to Bill and Christine for their welcoming and incredible hospitality.

A beautiful spot!
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Going around thanksgiving meant it was cozy in the cabin and the leaves were changing outside. Bill and Christine were wonderful hosts who were there to greet us and responsive if we needed them, but otherwise gave us space and privacy. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we could need for cooking (and the knives were sharp!) It was wonderful to be able to bring our dog with us, and there were beautiful places to walk with him. We loved our time there and have recommended it to many people already!

Cozy Cottage Getaway
Kanata Beach Cottage - Cozy Getaway July/Aug 2023 Our family had a wonderful stay at the Kanata Beach cottage. The cottage was lovely, quaint and well maintained. Exactly what we needed for our week away. Our dog Leo had a fabulous time in the water, plenty of property to play on. We lacked for nothing, and although skeptical of the outdoor shower at first ;) Just happened to be the best showers over looking the lake morning and dusk.
