Close to JTNP
This pleasant home was perfect for our family to spend time in Joshua Tree National Park. We spent the week hiking, climbing and sightseeing in the park. The north park entrance is about 4 miles from the house -- this entrance is much less busy than the west entrance in Joshua Tree, which gets extensive traffic backups.
This home is typical for the area, a single story bungalow with a fenced back yard. We loved the grill and the fire pit seating with a view of the mountains! The yard would be safe for kids or dogs. The home is in great shape, recently remodeled and with pleasant decor. The kitchen and bedrooms are well furnished. The neighborhood is very quiet. There are two bedrooms and a bonus room with a day bed, as well as a large sofa in the living room. There is also a small telescope to enjoy the dark desert skies! Our sons used the Internet to work remotely for a couple of days while we were there.
Twentynine Palms is a small town, but it has a couple of grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. This would be a good base for exploring further east and north into the new Mojave preserves, especially with a 4WD.
